One of the best Filipino customs is the “bayanihan spirit” or the value of teamwork and cooperation to achieve a goal. This continues to manifest today through the launching of community pantries in the Philippines in the middle of a pandemic. A community pantry is a pantry filled with all kinds of food and essential needs including vegetables, fruits, canned goods, and rice. The thing about a community pantry is people can freely take what they need and give what they can in return.
Community pantries spring up in different areas in Batangas
Various places in the province have set up their own community charity initiatives to help their fellow residents deeply affected by the pandemic. Most have fruits and vegetables and essential foods. Below are some of the pantries and their locations.

A quote once said that a little goes a long way, and these simple community pantries are perfect embodiments of it. Always remember that a kind act doesn’t have to be big to be impactful because what matters is that it comes from the heart. Salute to all Filipinos who started their own community pantries!
