The fight against the pandemic is still ongoing, and authorities everywhere, including Southern Luzon, are continuously imposing strict protocols for the safety of the people. After Batangas was placed under modified general community quarantine or MGCQ, DILG-Batangas released new and updated guidelines for its citizens. Meanwhile, a Philippine Red Cross molecular laboratory in Batangas that can conduct 32,000 COVID-19 tests a day has gotten accredited. Shopping establishments in the province have also adjusted their operating hours to limit the movement of people.

Quarantine Updates: Updated guidelines released for areas under MGCQ

The Department of Interior and Local Government - Batangas has just released updated guidelines for all areas under modified general community quarantine or MGCQ. The new guidelines state that minimum public health shall continually be complied with at all times. Frequent hand washing, wearing of face masks, and social distancing must still be strictly observed. Movement of residents in areas under MGCQ will be limited to accessing essential goods and services and for work in permitted establishments.

Moreover, indoor and outdoor sports that do not require physical contact are allowed, provided wearing of face masks and social distancing protocols will be followed. Mass gatherings shall be limited to only 50% of the establishment’s capacity.
