Cebu Pacific officially launched
self-service bag drop counters for domestic travelers at Clark International Airport in the Philippines. The local airline company became the first carrier to use this new contactless technology.
The new self-bag drop counters are available for service to passengers on domestic flights with Cebu Pacific. The airline currently operates six weekly flights bound between Clark and Cebu. The number of flights will also increase daily until December this year.
The Vice President for Customer Service Operations of Cebu Pacific, Ms. Lei Apostol, expressed that they are proud that they would get to finally use the self-service bag drop counters in the country. This innovation perfectly fits with the goal of Cebu Pacific in making flying safe and easy for Every Juan, as she said on behalf of Cebu Pacific. She also added that they believe the contactless technology and the new self-bag drop system can be a solution in making airline services faster and more efficient at the Clark International Airport. The new
self-baggage check-in counters and self-baggage drop facilities are part of the latest key features of Clark International Airport’s new terminal, according to Mr. Noel Manankil, Chief Executive Officer of the Luzon International Premiere Airport Development Corporation (LIPAD), the authorizing body in charge of the operations and management of Clark International Airport in the Philippines. Manankil is also ecstatic that Cebu Pacific has fully realized the potential of using self-service bag drop features, which greatly help domestic travelers have a seamless and hassle-free trip.
Apart from Cebu, Cebu Pacific also operates on direct flights from Clark bound to other prime destinations in the Philippines—Puerto Princesa, Bohol, Boracay, Bacolod, Iloilo, and Davao.
Apostol also added that the airline is catering to an expected influx of passengers from Clark.
The self-service bag drop lets passengers print their bag tags, which they would attach to their bags and luggage, and then proceed to the self-baggage drop counters.
