The Department of the Interior and Local Government announced and confirmed that Angeles City in Pampanga had reached
herd immunity status as of December 7 [2]. Angeles City is now one of the 23 cities in the Philippines to do so.
As of December 7, about 321, 977 Angeleños are inoculated with their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine; 264, 824 are fully vaccinated due to the efforts of health care workers and vaccine programs like Ronda Bakuna sa Barangay and Sundo Bakuna.
In addition to Angeles City, four towns in Pampanga also achieved COVID-free status: San Luis, Minalin, Apalit, and Sasmuan all recorded zero active COVID-19 cases. Mexico City holds the most cases as of December 5 with 19 active cases followed by Floridablanca with 18 active cases, and Guagua with 13. Also, 16 other towns in Pampanga recorded lesser active cases over the week. No deaths were also recorded in the province recently [3].
