RT-PCR Tests Are No Longer A Travel Requirement in Region 3

Tourism in Region 3 will be more relaxed in terms of the guidelines for travel and requirements for visiting tourists. The Department of Tourism’s (DOT’s) latest suggestion makes travel requirements more accessible to motorcycle rider tourists who frequent Region 3 due to various beautiful places and tourist attractions. The new travel protocol includes removing RT-PCR tests as requirements for visitors, but they must present their vaccination cards instead.

The tourism sector in Region 3 also opened more roads, tourist spots, and places in Pampanga like Diaspora Farm Resort, Mt. Arayat National Park, Bacolod Church, Lubao Bamboo Hub. Clark Freeport attractions include Dinosaur Island, Clark Natural Park, and Clark Museum. These tourist places also no longer require RT-PCR tests.

In addition, DOT is also pushing for an interregional tour bubble between Region 3 and Region 7 since Clark also has a large airport that tourists can use to visit other destinations.

As of November, over 92 percent of tourism workers in Pampanga were already vaccinated. The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) placed Region 3 areas like Pampanga, Tarlac, Bulacan, Olongapo, Angeles City, Aurora, and Bataan under Alert Level 2.

Under this alert level, tourists of all ages and with or without comorbidities can visit various venues for leisure activities in region 3. Tourists can also stop by and dine-in at food establishments that follow the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI’s) guidelines. Previously, domestic tourists must present negative RT-PCR tests before going to their desired travel destinations in various areas aside from Region 3 as part of travel guidelines.
