Subic Gym offered for isolation of infected workers
Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority offered Subic Gym, now a community isolation facility, for the isolation of workers at the Subic container terminal who tested positive for COVID-19. SBMA Chairwoman Wilma Eisma mentioned this in a meeting last Wednesday, August 19, along with the officials of the Department of Health, the World Health Organization, and the Subic Bay International Terminal Corporation. As per the latest count, a total of 29 workers tested positive for COVID-19. Eisma emphasized that SBMA has long prepared the Subic Gym as early as April for this kind of scenario. The gym was converted into a 32-bed isolation facility complete with work and rest quarters for medical personnel. [4]
