El Nido established a new tourism record by welcoming 500,408 visitors in 2023. Alongside this milestone are some changes in
El Nido environmental fee, also called Eco-Tourism Development Fee Rates, this year as the local government enacted a new law through Municipal Ordinance 01 Series of 2024.
Starting June 1, 2024, The El Nido environmental fee rates have been updated, with the regular rate set at PhP400. This is an increase from the previous rate of PhP200, which had been in effect for over 12 years.
The El Nido environmental fee varies depending on residence and status. For residents of El Nido, the fee is waived entirely. Filipino residents and government employees pay a reduced rate, while students, senior citizens, differently-abled individuals, and children enjoy further discounts.
Other details for the new El Nido environmental fee are as follows:
For tourists outside Palawan
• PhP400 for regular tourists;
• PhP400 for Filipino Government Employees;
• PhP300 for students;
• PhP320 for Senior Citizens, Differently-bled individuals, and PWD card holders;
• PhP250 for children six to 13 years old; and
• Children below six years old are free.
For tourists from Palawan
• PhP200 for regular tourists;
• PhP200 for Filipino Government Employees;
• PhP100 for students;
• PhP160 for Senior Citizens, Differently-bled individuals, and PWD card holders;
• PhP150 for children six to 13 years old; and
• Children below six years old are free.
