During the Christmas and New Year holidays, roads and transport terminals in Metro Manila get very crowded because many people travel due to holiday celebrations, family gatherings, and shopping for Christmas gifts or Noche Buena food. To help with this, transport agencies change their schedules to serve more passengers. Check the holiday operating hours for LRT and MRT stations announced by the Department of Transportation to guide you for a smooth holiday commute.

MRT-3 Adjusted Schedule

The MRT Line 3, running between North Avenue and Taft Avenue, will adjust its hours from December 16 to 24 and 31. The first trip from North Avenue will start at 4:30 AM. From December 16 to 23, MRT Line 3's last train will leave North Avenue at 10:34 PM and depart from Taft Avenue at 11:08 PM.

LRT-1 and LRT-2 Adjusted Schedules

LRT Line 2, connecting Antipolo to Recto, will operate its first commercial train at 5:00 AM from December 17 to 23 and on December 24 and 31. Regular service will run from December 25 to 30. On January 1 and onwards, regular schedules will resume for reliable transportation in the new year.

Meanwhile, starting December 20, the LRT-1, running from Dr. Santos Station (formerly Sucat) in Paranaque to Fernando Poe Jr. Station in Quezon City will operate on adjusted hours.

The two terminal stations will begin operating earliest on December 20, 23, and 26 to 27. The first trains will depart from both stations at 4:30 AM. On December 20 and 23, the last train from Dr. Santos Station will leave at 10:30 PM, while the final train from FPJ Station will depart at 10:45 PM.

To ensure a smooth travel experience, follow these updated train schedules and remember to bring (or wear) rain-ready footwear in case you get caught in a downpour.
