La Mesa Ecopark is a beloved destination for many nature enthusiasts, families, and adventure seekers. From its lush greenery to its serene lake, this
park in Quezon City offers a photogenic retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. However, in February 2024, the park had to close its doors for rehabilitation, leaving its frequent guests and avid fans saddened.
However, the new management, Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS), has recently announced its dedication to reopening the
La Mesa Ecopark Quezon City in June 2024, just in time for the World Environment Day celebration.
The MWSS has outlined a comprehensive three-phase rehabilitation plan for La Mesa Ecopark. The first phase will focus on restoring public areas, including the Eco Academy Pavilion, Museum, and Team Building Activity Centers, and upgrading the picnic areas, souvenir shop, viewing deck, and swimming pool. This phase is expected to be completed before the park reopens in June, with the subsequent phases continuing rehabilitation work.
MWSS aims to enhance the La Mesa Ecopark's eco-friendly attractions and inspire visitors to become environment-conscious. By reopening La Mesa Ecopark on World Environment Day in June, it hopes to pay tribute to nature and future generations.
