Look: Rizal Park Sparkles With Holiday Light Displays

The holiday season wouldn’t be complete without the dazzling lights in various tourist spots and public spaces for many Filipinos. Over the years, families have visited Rizal Park for bonding during the Christmas season. Thankfully, the Philippine holiday tradition lives on with the quarantine restrictions eased.
The lights on Luneta Park are back and open again to residents and tourists. Dazzling lights and decorations welcome visitors for this year’s holiday season. Ushering in the Christmas season, the brightly-lit park was reopened last November 22 in a lighting ceremony held by the National Parks Development Committee. Along with Luneta, festive lights were also opened in tourist spots in Metro Manila like the Manila City Hall, Philippine Post Office, National Museum, and Intramuros.

Apart from the giant 40-ft lit Christmas tree, visitors can also see a life-size Belen or nativity scene. Trees were also adorned with circles and star-shaped capiz lights that dangle from branches. The Aguinaldo House is also covered with bright LED lights. For families, the highlight might be the light musical fountain in the middle of the park. The dancing fountain display can be seen daily from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The park is open until 8:00 PM only, but an extension to 10:00 PM is seen before December 1. The best part is that entrance is free!
Safety protocols
Despite the ease in restrictions regarding face shields, visitors are still required to practice physical distancing and wearing face masks for a safer Christmas holiday celebration. Children are allowed, but parents should always keep an eye on them at all times.
Luneta or Rizal Park is indeed one of the best places to see Christmas lights in the country! Share the festive spirit with your family for happy holidays!
