Government urges public to take precautionary measures
Practicing good hygiene is the best way to be protected against the new coronavirus strain, according to the Department of Health (DOH). The public is advised to frequently wash their hands and avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. Disinfecting surfaces and objects will also lessen risks. When coughing or sneezing, cover the mouth with a tissue and practice proper disposal. Those who feel flu-like symptoms are encouraged to seek medical attention immediately [4].
The new coronavirus strain was detected last December 31, 2019 in Wuhan, China. Last January 30, 2020, the Department of Health has confirmed that a Chinese woman from China in San Lazaro, Manila has the virus.
Intramuros tourists should be responsible, admin says
The Intramuros Administration (IA) reminds tourists to observe proper etiquette after a man was caught defecating on a flower pot at the historical spot. The administration also calls every tourist to be vigilant and alert authorities if a similar instance occurs. The government is still on the lookout for the said tourist [5].
