When it comes to looking for a
hotel, the design and aesthetics, not to mention the
Instagram-worthy spots, play a huge factor. Whether it’s an urban-themed room or a pool that provides a seamless view of the city skyline, one can never go wrong with a hotel that has carefully crafted interiors. Luckily, Metro Manila is home to numerous establishments with IG-worthy nooks, and one of them is an
urban hotel in Quezon City called
Upper Story Serviced Apartments.
Nestled in the heart of Cubao, Quezon City, this modern hotel managed by Hospitality Innovators, Inc. can surely set the scene for the perfect contemporary escape. Upper Story Serviced Apartments is named as such because the rooms that guests can book and occupy are those from the 16th floor to the 27th floor. With aesthetically pleasing rooms and facilities, Upper Story can definitely jazz up your IG feed in no time. If you’re curious about what this
urban hotel in Quezon City has to offer, read on!
1. Upper Story is a sanctuary presented with a contemporary touch.
From its gray walls to its sleek furniture, the lobby at Upper Story immediately gives off an urban ambiance. You will be welcomed by the hotel’s friendly staff who are all smiles as they greet you, instantly making the hotel more inviting than it already is. The waiting area is also furnished with hexagon-shaped ottomans paired with black, stainless-steel coffee tables that add to the lobby’s
contemporary appeal.
2. Its modern, spacious, and eco-friendly rooms provide all the comfort that you need.
Being a picture-perfect spot while providing all the needs for an ultimate staycation can be hard, but for
Upper Story Serviced Apartments, this is not a challenge at all. Every inch of the rooms is designed to create the perfect modern refuge. For one, all rooms have spacious areas and full-service kitchenettes complete with welcome beverages like water and a coffee and tea set. They are also fully equipped with essential amenities including a 40” inch LED TV, a work space, mini bar, refrigerator, blackout curtains, extra benches, and fast Wifi connection.
The neutral-colored furniture and cement-finished walls lend an artful, urban appeal to the rooms, undeniably earning them a spot in your Instagram feed. While this contemporary feel is consistent throughout the hotel, each room type still has its own charms, as you will see below.
Studio
The Studio (35 sqm) can either have one Queen-sized bed or two Twin beds, depending on your preference. The beds are covered with fresh white linens that are so inviting, it’s hard not to plop down on them. Pillows and bed runners also add a lovely pop of color. This room can accommodate two people—perfect for a staycation with a best friend or a loved one.
One Bedroom Deluxe
The One Bedroom Deluxe (40 sqm) has separate spaces for the bedroom, living area, and the bathroom. With one Queen bed and a dining area for two, the room is perfect for those who are looking for a more intimate getaway. What makes the One Bedroom Deluxe different from the rest is that its bathroom has two doors: one that leads to the living area and one that is directly connected to the bedroom.
One Bedroom Premier
If you’re looking for a bigger room, then your best bet is the One Bedroom Premier (47 sqm) which can host up to three people. The room’s dining area has more ample space, making it easier to move around. Like the One Bedroom Deluxe, this room also has separate spaces for the living area, bedroom, and bathroom. The bathroom only has one entrance, and that is from the bedroom.
As these lovely rooms show, Upper Story has various accommodation types to meet your staycation needs. Their website,
https://www.upperstory.ph/, lists the best rates for your stay as well as the promos they offer.
Eco-friendly Bathrooms
Upper Story isn’t just an Instagrammable place; it is also an establishment that cares about nature. The hotel promotes sustainable living by getting rid of plastic toiletries and instead using refillable bottles for bath essentials like shampoo and conditioner. They also highly encourage their guests to reuse their towels in order to conserve water, detergent, and energy.
3. Your fur baby can come along with you.
Just when you thought your urban escapade couldn’t get any better, it does! If you have a pet, you’d be delighted to know that Upper Story welcomes fur babies as well. The hotel is a
pet-friendly property and it allows both dogs and cats with a pet deposit of PhP2,000 per day. Note that the hotel can welcome only pets weighing up to 75 lbs in total, and only two pets per room are allowed.
You don’t have to worry about your furry friends creating a mess on the carpet because these are removed when there are animals around. Still, it's best to ensure that your pets behave well; Upper Story will charge pet incidentals if your dog breaks something or your cat turns the wooden bed into a scratch post. If you wish to extend your stay with your pet, you simply have to pay an additional PhP500 per pet, per stay.
4. The hotel’s facilities are visually stunning.
Vacationing in a hotel doesn't mean staying in the room all day. While you’re at Upper Story, you shouldn’t miss out on what they have to offer, especially since they offer a lot! The place features picturesque facilities, namely the Cookbook Cafe, Roofdeck Lounge, Rooftop Gym, and Pool Deck.
Cookbook Cafe
Cookbook Cafe, the hotel's restaurant, offers sumptuous food sure to satisfy your taste buds. Some of the cafe’s tasty dishes are the Cheesy Nachos, a plate of nachos topped with beef, salsa, and cheese; Pulled Pork Sliders, three mini buns stuffed with smoked house glazed pork and slaw served with potato chips; and the Club Sandwich, a loaf bread filled with scrambled eggs, chicken salad, bacon, and cheese.
Besides the neat serving of the food, another thing that will earn your 'like' is the cafe’s
wall art. Painted with attractive bright colors, the mural adds a vibrant touch to the mostly neutral-colored surroundings.
Roofdeck Lounge
If you’re looking for a place to chill after spending a day out in the city, you can visit the Roofdeck Lounge which is situated on the roof deck. The lounge provides a flawless view of the city, making it one of the most picturesque spots in the hotel.
Rooftop Gym
Just because you’re on a staycation doesn’t mean you have to skip the workout. The hotel’s Rooftop Gym gives a full 180-degree view of the metro through its floor-to-ceiling glass walls, so you can burn unwanted calories while enjoying the captivating view of Manila. Fully equipped with state-of-the-art cardiovascular machines, weights, and strength training equipment, exercising in this gym is twice as fun.
