Metro Manila, travel, things to do, weather, new year 2020

Plans and preparations for the New Year would be affecting majority of traffic and travel this week in Metro Manila. December 30 to January 1 are declared non-working holidays, so expect locals and tourists out and about. In terms of traffic, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will lift the number coding until January 2 to ease traffic during the holiday season. For those who are planning a staycation over the long weekend, hotel room availability in Metro Manila is still good for small to big groups. Major banks have also released their operating hours and schedules during the holiday. Lastly, toll fees will be waived during the New Year.

Weather: Sunny to cloudy skies

The last week of 2019 will end with generally pleasant weather fit for traveling. Day temperature will be 30 °C to 32 °C, and chances for rainfall is small [1]. Bring sun protection while travelling such as sunscreen and an umbrella. For continuous update on the weather, follow DOST-PAGASA’s social media pages and website.

The scheme has been lifted from December 23 to 31, 2019 and will last until January 2, 2020.
