November is usually spent on holiday preparations; it’s a common sight to see shoppers buying presents and Christmas decors being put up all around Metro Manila. But this doesn’t mean you can’t make time for enjoyment in the midst of Christmas prep! Before the flurry of the jam-packed holiday season really comes, find something fun to do in various concerts and events in Metro Manila this November 2019. Read on to see seven events in Metro Manila this November 2019 and the complete details about each!


1. Van Gogh Alive

When: October 26 to December 8, 2019, Mondays to Sundays

Heads up, art fans: the Van Gogh Alive Multi-Sensory Experience has finally come to the Philippines. From October 26 to December 8, you can marvel at the works of legendary artist Vincent Van Gogh. The exhibit is not only visually appealing but is also a great way for students to learn about Van Gogh’s life. Some of the artworks you can expect to appear at the exhibit are “Irises,” “Potato Eaters,” “Almond Blossoms,” and the iconic “Starry Night.” Tickets are available at The Mind Museum’s website.

Tip for a good experience: Most of the weekend slots are sold out as of November 5, 2019. Take this into consideration when planning a trip to the attraction.



How to get to One Bonifacio High Street: Take the MRT and alight at Ayala Station. Ride the RCBC bus and get off at 5th Ave. Walk along 5th Ave and turn right, walk past the next intersection of 28th. Turn right to High Street. One Bonifacio High Street is across Sterling Bank. The exhibit is located at the 4th floor.


2. HONNE and JOAN Live at Ayala Malls

UK-based electronic duo HONNE and indie-pop duo Joan will be returning to the Philippines once again! The two acts will be holding performances in varioys Ayala Malls around Metro Manila. HONNE is behind songs like “Day 1,” “Me and You,” “Location Unknown,” and “Warm on a Cold Night,” while Joan is known for their upbeat songs “Tokyo” and “Take Me On.”

Tip for a good experience: There are different mechanics for ticket claiming depending on the venue. These are indicated at the event organizer’s page. Make sure to wear your wristlet at all times during the event.



How to get to Trinoma: Ride the MRT and get off at the North Avenue Station. The station is directly linked to Trinoma. You will see the entrance as soon as you exit the MRT.

How to get to Glorietta: Ride the MRT and drop off at Ayala Station. The station is connected to SM Makati. Enter it and walk until you reach Glorietta, which is interconnected with the mall.

How to get to Fairview Terraces: If you’re coming from EDSA, ride a bus bound for Fairview. Tell the conductor to drop you off at Fairview Terraces.



How to get to One Bonifacio High Street: Take the MRT and alight at the Ayala Station. Ride the RCBC bus and get off at 5th Ave. Walk along 5th Ave and turn right, then walk past the next intersection at 28th. Turn right to High Street.

How to get to UP Town Center: From the Katipunan Station of the LRT, walk towards the jeepney terminal heading to U.P Town Center with “Katipunan ikot” signages. Pay the minimum fare.

How to get to Alabang Town Center: From EDSA, ride a southbound bus bound for Alabang. Ask the driver to drop you off at Alabang Town Center.



How to get to Ayala Malls Manila Bay: Take the MRT-3 and get off at Taft Avenue Station then go down the stairs at the northbound side of the station. Turn left into a passageway next to Mcdonald’s and look for a Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 shuttle commuter bus. Alight at the Ayala Malls Manila Bay. It is just a short walk from City of Dreams Manila.

If you grew up during the 90s or early 2000s, then this concert would trigger your nostalgia. A1 and O-Town are two of the biggest boy bands from the previous decades and are behind some of the most iconic songs that millennials grew up with. O-Town is behind the ballad “All or Nothing,” “Liquid Dreams,” and “We Fit Together.” On the other hand, A1 is known for “Like A Rose,” “Everytime,” and “Ready Or Not.” Tickets are available at SM Tickets outlets and SM Tickets online.

Tip for a good experience: The following are not allowed in the venue: video and audio recording devices, outside food and drinks, oversized LED banners, pointed umbrellas or sharp objects, big bags or backpacks, tripods and monopods, and illegal weapons. If you brought something prohibited, you can leave them at a baggage counter near the entrance.



How to get to SM Mall of Asia Arena: Ride the MRT-3 to Taft Avenue Station. Exit the station and look for a jeepney or shuttle heading to SM Mall of Asia. Alight the jeepney at the Mall of Asia Complex. The eye-shaped building is the Mall of Asia Arena.

Another boy band that will be performing for their Filipino fans is American group Why Don’t We or WDW. WDW consists of members Zach, Jack, Daniel, Corbyn, and Jonah. Not only do they possess good looks, but they are also talented performers. Some of their hit songs include “What Am I,” “Trust Fund Baby,” and “8 Letters.” Tickets are available at MMI Live’s website, TicketNet outlets, and at the TicketNet website.

Tip for a good experience: When bringing signs or fan merchandise, check first with the venue if unofficial merch are allowed. Some concerts only allow merch that are bought within the premise.



How to get to New Frontier Theater: Take either the LRT-2 or MRT-3 then alight at the Araneta Center Cubao Station. Exit the station then walk along Aurora Boulevard. From there, take a turn to General Aguinaldo Avenue on the right side. Turn left and you’ll see the New Frontier Theatre.

Got love for the local music scene? All Of The Noise is an event where you can show your support and expand your music taste. The three-day event will feature performances from local bands such as Deafheaven, Delta Sleep, Cambio, Autotelic, Dante & Amigo, Oh Flamingo, She’s Only Sixteen, M1ldl1fe, Apartel, Ena Mori, and One Click Straight. It will also feature speakers who will talk about the rise and improvement of the music scene in the Philippines and Asia. A music market will also be held during the event which will showcase merchandise and goods from musicians, brands, and entrepreneurs.

Tip for a good experience: The venue is smaller compared to most concert venues so you can expect the area to get easily crowded.



How to get to Century City Mall: Ride the MRT-3 and alight at Guadalupe Station. Exit at the southbound side of EDSA. From there, ride a jeepney with an “Ayala JP Rizal Makati Ave Guad Ibabaw” sign. Pay the minimum fare and alight at Makati cor Kalayaan, which is past A Venue Mall. Walk along Kalayaan Avenue to get to Century City Mall. It is the C-shaped building.


6. Komikon Grande 2019

If you’re looking for a unique gift for loved ones this Christmas, you might find them here. You can buy zines, comics, stickers, prints, pins, and other sweet finds from local talented artists. The event is also a great way for you to meet people who share the same interests and fandoms with you, whether it’s K-Pop, anime, or popular TV shows.

Tip for a good experience: Bayanihan Center is a small venue and the air condition tends to get weak when there’s a big crowd. Wear something light or something with breathable fabrics so you can feel comfortable.



How to get to Unilab Bayanihan Center: Ride the MRT-3 and get off at Shaw Boulevard Station. Walk down towards Shaw Boulevard. Ride a jeep going to Pasig and get off at Tropical Hut. From there, ride a tricycle to Bayanihan Center.


7. ChubbyCon 2019

When: November 22 to 24, 2019; 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM
Where: Shangri-La Plaza, Level 2 Grand Atrium, Main Wing
Ticket/entrance price: Free entrance

ChubbyCon 2019 is an event for foodies and adventurous eaters.

Foodies, prepare your wallets and stomachs because you’re bound to get surrounded by tempting dishes and drinks at the ChubbyCon 2019. The event will showcase a variety of food from local food businesses. Treats will range from fried goodies to sweet milk teas. Along with foodie favorites, you might also discover a new go-to dish from any of the participating food vendors.

Tip for a good experience: As of writing, the event organizer is yet to release the final lineup of vendors. If you want to be updated, monitor the social media page of the event.



How to get to Shangri-La Plaza: Ride the MRT and get off at Shaw Boulevard Station. Take the northbound exit on the side of Shangri-La Mall. You will see the entrance to the mall on your right as soon as you exit the turnstiles. The event is located at the second floor.


From an interactive exhibit to concerts, November will indeed be a month full of interesting events!
