Expect light to intense rain in Metro Manila this week according to Accuweather. Light showers are likely to happen in the mornings while thunderstorms are predicted to occur in the afternoons. Umbrellas are essential for those who frequently commute and travel. Temperature ranging from 30 °C to 32 °C can also be expected [1].

Monitor the social media pages and website of DOST-PAGASA for continuous weather updates. If you’re living in a flood-prone area, make sure to take precautions against waterborne diseases such as typhoid fever and leptospirosis. Check for flight cancellations on websites and social media pages of airlines.

The local government of San Juan City issued a strictly no-parking policy in several areas around Barangay Greenhills, namely Club Filipino Avenue, Annapolis Street, Missouri Street, and Connecticut Street. The mentioned areas will be no-parking zones from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Monday to Sunday. The policy was implemented to ease the traffic in the area [2].

Those who have frequently used the Tomas Claudio Bridge in Pandacan, Manila now need to find alternate routes as the bridge was closed last August 3 due to repair works. The repairs will finish in six months.

Motorists going to Sta. Mesa are suggested to head straight to Labores Street, take a right turn to Jesus Street, and left to Jacinta Zamora Bridge. Another alternate route is from Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard then right to Old Sta. Mesa. For those going to South Luzon Expressway from Jacinto Zamora Bridge, you can turn left on Beata Street. If you’re coming from Sta. Mesa, go along Lubiran Street and turn right on New Panaderos, then proceed to Pedro Gil Street to Quirino Avenue [3].

An updated list of prohibited items in the airport was released by the Office for Transportation Security. Most of the items in the list include weapons, chemicals, and other toxic substances [4].

Some of the prohibited items are as follows:

• Corrosive substances (vinegars, muriatic acid, battery acid, acid, and sulfuric acid)

• Radioactive materials (both for medical or commercial use)

• Insect or animal repellent spray

• Flammable materials (paint, butane, lighter refill, and thinner)

• Bleach, fertilizer, and sulfur

• Dry ice, lithium battery

Objects with sharp points or edges:

• Ax and hatchet

• Arrow and dart

• Bayonet

• Bolos

• Box cutter

• Butterfly knife

• Canned products with easy to open lids

• Cleaver

• Cork screw

• Knife

• Scissors

• Fishing hook

• Letter and bottle opener

• Medical scalpel
