The country is still preoccupied with the results of the recently concluded national and local elections. But if you’re traveling to Metro Manila this week, prepare for some changes in the weather, which is slowly transitioning from sunny to rainy. Chances for thunderstorms will increase greatly over the week. However, the temperature is still expected to be warm. Meanwhile, the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) will be renamed to Marcelo H. Del Pilar Expressway after the Congress approved House Bill 8958.
Weather: Rainy weather will become more frequent
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has yet to announce the start of rainy season, but Metro Manila will experience frequent rain showers this week. Thunderstorms are expected for the whole week, but the temperature will remain warm. The daytime temperature will fall between 33 °C to 34 °C, while a slightly cooler atmosphere is expected at night with a temperature range of 24 °C to 28 °C [1].
Always bring an umbrella in your bag to protect yourself against the rain. Other rain-protective gears such as raincoats and boots might also come in handy, especially for those who live in flood-prone areas. Make sure to monitor the news for weather updates in the following days.
Travel News: NLEX to be renamed via new House Bill
The North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) will be renamed to Marcelo H. Del Pilar Expressway (MHDPEX) after the congress approved House Bill 8958. The change in name will honor the deeds of Marcelo H. del Pilar.
The NLEX was built in 1965 and spans over 97 kilometers. It is the connecting road between Metro Manila and Central and Northern Luzon [2].
