The weather won’t be the only thing that’s going to make your April hot. This month, various music acts coming to Metro Manila will set the stage ablaze. International acts such as Sabrina Carpenter, MØ, and Straykids and local talents such as MNL48 and The Cr3w will give the most anticipated concerts in Metro Manila this April 2019. If you want more than one live concert to keep your adrenaline pumping, then why not attend the Chroma Music Festival? When the sweltering summer weather saps away your energy, raise it back up in these concerts in Metro Manila this April 2019! 1. The Cr3w: Live in Concert

When: April 5, 2019; 8:00PM
Where: Smart Araneta Coliseum, General Araneta Avenue, corner General Roxas Avenue, Cubao District, Brgy. Socorro, Quezon City

Billy Crawford, Sam Concepcion, and James Reid teamed up to form The Cr3w. The three performers are known for their individual vocal and dancing skills, but collectively, they are a powerhouse. Joining them in their major concert are special guests Yassi Pressman, Coleen Garcia, and Nadine Lustre. Billy Crawford and James Reid recently collaborated with “Filipina Girl” while Sam Concepcion and James Reid previously recorded a song together on James’ Palm Dreams album. How to get there: Take either LRT-2 or MRT-3 then get off at the Araneta Center-Cubao Terminal Station. Enter Gateway Mall, which is interconnected with LRT-2, then take the red gate exit facing Farmer’s Market. The red gate is only within the ground floor. You can already see Smart Araneta Coliseum as you exit the gate. It is a huge dome-shaped building.



2. First Generation MNL 48 Living the Dream concert

When: April 6, 2019; 7:00PM
Where: New Frontier Theater, 7 General Malvar Ave, Cubao, Quezon City, Metro Manila

MNL48, the Philippines’ own version of the world famous Japanese pop group phenomenon AKB48, will finally have their first major concert. The show will feature their songs such as “Pag-Ibig Fortune Cookie” (Love Fortune Cookie,) “Palusot Ko’y Maybe” (My Excuse is Maybe,) and “First Rabbit.” The concert is expected to attract thousands of J-pop fans. MNL48 was formed through a talent search contest in daytime television show Showtime. Tickets are available at Ticketnet outlets and Ticketnet website.

How to get there: Take either the LRT-2 or MRT-3 then alight at the Araneta Center Cubao Station. Exit the station then walk along Aurora Boulevard. From there, take a turn to General Aguinaldo Avenue on the right side. Turn left and you’ll see the New Frontier Theatre.


3. Chroma Music Festival 2019

When: April 6, 2019; 1:00 PM onwards
Where: Globe Circuit Events Ground, H. Santos St., Brgy. Carmona, Makati City, Metro Manila

The Chroma Music Festival is back for another year. This 2019, the jam-packed lineup includes Tom Taus, Michael Pangilinan, Just Hush, La Creme, Teddy Cream, Ace Ramos, Funk Avy, Marc Marasigan, Jet Boado, X Factor, Katsy Lee, Franco Zarate, Khai Lim, Therese Garcia, Cathy Frey, Dee Mc Boo, Victor Pring, and MC DM. The music festival also features fun activities such as obstacle courses, a giant balloon slide, giant ball pit, face painting, and photobooths, among others. Attendees can also participate in throwing colored powders and water balloons. Students can get discounted ticket prices. Tickets are available at SM Tickets outlets and SM Tickets online.



How to get there: Ride the MRT to Guadalupe Station. Exit the station then ride a jeepney en route to Del Pan or El Guinto and get off at PRC. You can either take a 5-minute walk from the last stop in PRC or ride a tricycle to Circuit Makati for PhP20.


4. Sabrina Carpenter presents The Singular Tour

When: April 9, 2019; 07:00 PM

Former Disney Channel star Sabrina Carpenter will have her first concert in Manila after the launch of her music career. The 19-year-old singer-songwriter is known for hits like “Sue Me,” “Why,” “Almost Love,” and “Thumbs.” She also previously performed “Almost Love” with local rapper Shanti Dope. The tour is named after her soon-to-be released fourth album. Tickets are available at Ticketnet outlets and Ticketnet online.

5. MØ live in Manila

Danish pop star MØ will have her first one-night-only show in Manila this month. The hit-maker behind songs such as “Kamikazee,” “Final Song,” “Don’t Leave,” and “Sun In Our Eyes,” will be heading to the country as part of the promotion of her latest album Forever Neverland. She will perform both of her previous hits and a couple of songs from her latest studio album. MØ is also known for her parts in DJ Snake’s “Lean On” and Major Lazer’s “Cold Water.” Tickets are available at Ticketnet outlets and Ticketnet online.

6. Stray Kids

K-pop rookie group Stray Kids will have their first-ever show in Metro Manila this month. Awarded the Rookie Artist of the Year in 2018, the group has gained multiple fans all over the worlds including the Philippines. Now, Filipino “Stays” (their fans club) will finally get to watch Woojin, Lee Know, Changbin, Bang Chan, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N live. Some of their popular songs include “My Pace,” “Get Cool,” “Hellevator,” and “District 9.” Tickets are available at Ticketnet outlets and Ticketnet online.
