Number coding lifted for New Year
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) lifted the number coding rule for the holidays. The scheme will take effect from December 24 to January 2, 2019. However, there are some exceptions. Provincial buses that will ply Metro Manila will not be affected by the number coding. Meanwhile, Makati and Las Pinas have not yet announced whether they will lift the number coding scheme for the New Year [2].
Toll fees waived during the holidays
The toll fees in several of the country’s toll gates would be waived during the holidays. The following gates where this applies would be the NAIA Expressway, Skyway System, South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), and Star Tollway. Fees will be waived from 10:00 PM on December 31 to 6:00 AM on January 1, 2019 [3].
LRT-1 schedule for New Year released to the public
The Light Rail Transit Corporation (LRTC) announced the operating hours of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) during the New Year. Northbound and southbound trips will start at 4:30AM. The last trip from Roosevelt Station on December 31 will be on 7:00 PM while on January 1 and 2, the final trips will be at 9:45 PM. Meanwhile, last trips for Baclaran on December 29 and 30 would be at 9:30 PM. On December 31, the final trip would be at 7:00 PM while on January 1 and 2, the last trips would be at 9:30PM [4].
