Jeepney minimum fare rolls back to PhP9
The Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB) announced that the regular minimum fare for jeepneys in the National Capital Region (NCR), Region IV (CALABARZON and MIMAROPA), and Region III would be back to PhP9. The rollback was due to the decrease in the price of fuel. The PhP9 fare would be charged to passengers who will travel within four kilometers. The previous fare in November was PhP10 [2].
MMDA advises motorists about drunk driving during the holidays
The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) released a public advisory that warns commuters—particularly those who drive their own vehicles—to be more cautious and to avoid drinking heavily if driving afterwards especially during the holiday season.
Anyone who would be caught violating the Anti-Drunk and Drugged Driving Act of 2013 would be imposed a fine of PhP20,000 to PhP500,000 and will face imprisonment for three months. The driver's license of violators would also be suspended if convicted of driving under the influence (DUI) [3]
New PNR extension connects Taguig and Malabon
The newest extension of the Philippine National Railway (PNR) can let folks coming from Malabon to arrive in Taguig faster. There will be eight daily trips from Gov. Pascual to FTI station. Meanwhile, there would only be four trips for the Tutuban to Gov. Pascual route.
The train will pass by Sangandaan, Paco, Dela Rosa, Espana, Blumentritt, Solis, 5th Avenue, Asistio, and EDSA stations. The one-way fare is priced at PhP25 for air conditioned coaches and PhP20 for non-air conditioned coaches [4].
