For those who are heading to Metro Manila this week, here are a few heads up: for the weather, expect a mix of sunshine and rain; in terms of transportation, if you’re coming from Cavite or Batangas, expect to be dropped off at the Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) due to LTFRB’s new memorandum. Meanwhile, fare prices in local airlines remain the same despite the fuel cost increase.
Weather: Mix of sunshine and rain
The Metro Manila weather will range from cloudy with chances of light showers to pleasantly sunny for the whole week. Day temperature is expected to fall between 31 to 32°C. For night time, the temperature will be cooler as it ranges from 22 to 25°C [1]. Those who will travel or engage in outdoor activities must wear sunscreen and breathable fabrics. Bringing an umbrella is also a must since it could rain in the afternoons.
Traffic news: Public utility vehicles from the south provinces to end their trips at PITX
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) released a memorandum that advises all public utility vehicles (PUVS) from provinces south of Metro Manila to end their trip at the newly-inaugurated Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) [2]. Affected routes will be those coming from Nasugbu, Balayan, Calatagan, and Cavite.
City buses that end trips in Baclaran will also have to use the PITX. However, the memo won’t affect Metro Manila-bound buses that will come from Dasmarinas, Imus, Bacoor, General Trias, Noveleta, Silang, Kawit, and Cavite City, although they can drop off and pick up passengers from PITX.
Travel Update: Currently no air fare hike for local air carriers
Despite being allowed to raise fares due to an increase in fuel costs, local airline companies like Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines have not notified the Civil Aeronautics Board of their intent to raise charges [3]. Meanwhile, foreign airlines with flights from the country have already increased their fares.
