For the first week of November, Yoorekka visited Puregold Araneta to check the availability and prices of basic commodities. The following is an updated price list of items such as rice, meat, produce, and canned goods in this supermarket.

Rice

Rice in Puregold Araneta is generally offered in two-kilogram packs. Sinandomeng is priced at PhP120/2kg; Dinorado at PhP162/2kg; and brown rice at PhP220/2kg. NFA rice is not offered in this store.

Sugar, salt, pepper

One kilogram of brown sugar is sold for PhP55/kg while refined white sugar is at PhP64/kg. Meanwhile, whole black pepper is sold at PhP22/30g and iodized salt is for PhP17.50/kg.

Meat, Fish, and Poultry

Pork in cubes, also known as adobo cut, is sold at PhP215/kg. Beef is sold at PhP225/kg and a 250g serving of ham is sold at PhP52.

Tilapia is currently sold at PhP162/kg. Galunggong and bangus were not available at the time of visit.

A kilo of chicken goes for PhP110, while eggs sold per dozen have varying prices depending on size. One dozen medium eggs is sold at PhP81 while one dozen large eggs is priced at PhP85.

Vegetables

The following is a list of Puregold Araneta’s vegetable offerings with their prices: red onion, PhP135/kg; white onion, PhP85/kg; garlic, PhP100/kg; tomatoes, PhP68/kg; siling labuyo, PhP744/kg; potatoes, PhP190/kg; carrots, PhP197/kg; pechay, PhP136/kg; kangkong, PhP68/kg; and cabbages, PhP147/kg.

Fruits

One kilo of lakatan bananas is sold at PhP82 while one kilo of saba bananas goes for PhP55. Fuji apples are sold at PhP229/kg and China apples are at PhP200/kg. Meanwhile, oranges are sold at PhP220/kg.

Canned goods

The lowest prices of canned goods found in Puregold Araneta are as follows: tuna, PhP28.40/155g; corned beef, PhP18.75/150g; sardines, PhP15.45/155g; and meat loaf, PhP16.95/150g.
