September is here, which means the “-ber” months have officially started! The previous eight months have already brought amazing concerts to Manila, but the remaining four months promise more live shows that will keep us entertained as the year ends. This September alone, we are already presented with a diverse lineup of performers.
This month, there’s something for both young and old music lovers, such as Dua Lipa’s first major concert in Manila and the Debbie Gibson and Tiffany concert. 1. Dreaming Of Home

Noel Cabangon and Davey Langit called their collaboration a fitting thing to do since they have several similarities. For one, both hail from the north and have studied in Baguio. In addition to that, the two are also established singer-songwriters who have gained success in Manila.
Fans of the two acclaimed musicians can expect a show inspired by folk music—a musical influence they both got from Baguio. Noel Cabangon is known for his renditions of “Di Na Natuto” (Never Learned) and “Araw Gabi” (Day and Night) while Davey Langit is known for writing Yeng Constantino’s “Cool Off” and “Time In.”

How to get to Music Museum: Ride the MRT-3 and get off at Ortigas Station. Take the northbound exit then walk towards Robinsons Galleria. Ride a jeepney to San Juan or take any G Liner or RRCG bus heading to Quiapo. Ask the driver to drop you off at Greenhills. The Music Museum is beside the Promenade Mall.
2. Dua Lipa Live in Manila

Dua Lipa, the talented woman behind the infectious chart-topper “New Rules,” will finally have her first solo major concert in the country. She has already performed in the metro twice last year, one as part of the roster of In the Mix 2017 where she sang five songs. Besides “New Rules,” the 23 year-old Albanian-English pop star’s other hits include “IDGAF,” “New Love,” “One Kiss,” Thinking Bout You,” and “Blow Your Mind.”

How to get to SM Mall of Asia Arena: Take the MRT-3 and get off at Taft Avenue Station. Head outside and take a jeepney shuttle heading to SM Mall of Asia. Regular fare is PhP9. Get off the jeep and walk towards the eye-shaped building. That is the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
3. Postmodern Jukebox
When: September 14, 2018; 8:00 PM

Postmodern Jukebox is a musical collective that has amassed a Youtube following for flawlessly incorporating today’s popular music with classical styles such as jazz and Motown. It is composed of an impressive roster of classical musicians and vocalists who have one mission: to bring the classical sound back to the mainstream.
If you’re curious how Ed Sheeran’s hit “Shape of You” would sound like if it were made in the 70s, Postmodern Jukebox will answer your curiosity. Some of their other popular covers include “All About the Bass,” “Despacito,” and “Just Dance.”
How to get to Kia Theatre: You can take either the LRT-2 or MRT-3 and get off at the Araneta Center Cubao Terminal Station. Walk along Aurora Boulevard and turn to General Aguinaldo Avenue, which is at the right side. Then take a left turn to get to Kia Theatre.
4. Tiffany and Debbie Gibson
When: September 15, 2018; 8:00 PM

Here’s a treat for the titos and titas: two of your childhood faves would be joining forces for the ultimate throwback concert in Manila. Debbie Gibson and Tiffany, both iconic pop stars of the late 80s to the early 90s, will have their first concert in the metro as a tandem this month.
If millennials have the Britney Spears-Christina Aguilera rivalry, the older generation has the Debbie Gibson-Tiffany friction. The two were pitted against each other for both releasing debut albums in 1987 and having hits that reached the top of the Billboard charts. Both succeeded and gained loyal fans who have been supporting them for years.
Some of the songs that fans can expect to hear during the show include “I Think We’re Alone Now,” “Electric Youth,” “Lost In Your Eyes,” and “Could’ve Been.” Tickets are available at SM tickets outlets and SM Tickets online.

5. My Love, Always

Besides Debbie Gibson and Tiffany, there’s another throwback concert that will certainly make you reminisce the good old days. Shane Filan of the group Westlife will be back to Philippine shores this September for a major concert. He promoted his album last February, but his last concert in the country was in 2014.
Manila is part of his “My Love, Always” tour which promotes his album of the same name. Besides performing some of Westlife’s popular songs such as “Uptown Girl,” “If I Let You Go,” “Swear it Again,” and “What About Now?,” he will also be performing his new songs.

6. Alden Richards: Adrenaline Rush

Alden Richards is indeed a very busy man this year. Besides his regular stint at the noontime show “Eat Bulaga,” he is also currently working on his new series “Victor Magtanggol.” But despite all these projects, Alden proves how hardworking and talented he is by taking to the stage this September.
After the sold-out success of his Upsurge concert, Alden offers another exciting show to his ever-loyal fans. The announcement for the special guests is yet to be announced by GMA.

7. A Lani Morissette: A Musical Journey

You might have to take a double take at the name of this show because it’s not actually the Canadian-American singer and songwriter Alanis Morissette who’s having a concert. It’s actually the show of Lani Misalucha and Morissette Amon—both powerhouse vocalists of the country. The two are known for their impressive vocal chops, which is why Lani is called “Asia’s Nightingale” while Morissette is called “Asia’s Phoenix.” They will be having a back-to-back show which will highlight their individual journey towards achieving the peak of their careers.
Lani is known for her songs “Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin” (I Will Love You Tomorrow) and “Sana Dalawa Ang Puso Ko” (I Wish My Heart Were Two) while Morissette is known for her renditions of “Akin Ka Nalang” (Be Mine Instead) and “Secret Love Song.”

How to get to The Theatre at Solaire: Take the MRT to Taft Avenue Station. Ride a jeepney to SM Mall of Asia. Look for the free Solaire shuttle terminal. It is just in front of the mall. The Theatre at Solaire is accessible from the drop-off area via The Shoppes and Theatre parking area.
8. Sharon Cuneta at 40
When: September 28, 2018; 8:00 PM

Sharon Cuneta is also known as “Megastar,” a title she earned by working hard. After 40 years in the business, her star still continues to shine—a hard feat to achieve in an industry where fame is hard to maintain. As a treat for her supporters or “Sharonians,” she will hold a special concert to commemorate this milestone in her career and life.
Joining her on stage would be Zsa Zsa Padilla, Kuh Ledesma, Basil Valdez, Regine Velasquez, Gary Valenciano, and Martin Nievera. Ryan Cayabyab, Mel Villena, and Louie Ocampo would be the musical directors of the show.

How to get to Smart Araneta Coliseum: Take either LRT-2 or MRT-3 and get off at Araneta Center Cubao Terminal Station and from there walk towards Gateway Mall. From there, Smart Araneta Coliseum can be seen immediately.
9. Unique the Grandma Tour

Unique Salonga is a solo artist who would be having his first solo concert in Manila this month. Unique was the former frontman of IV of Spades, a local band known for their smooth vocals and funky songs reminiscent of the 70’s disco era. After leaving the band, Unique released “Midnight Sky,” a single which received positive reception from fans, critiques, and his fellow musicians.
A month before his solo concert, he released his 12-track album titled Grandma, which also gained attention from netizens. Some of the songs from the album that he is expected to perform are “Ozone,” “Apoy ng Kandila” (Fire of the Candle), “Goodnight Prayer,” and “I’ll Break Your Little Heart”

10. Seventeen

Korean pop (K-pop) group Momoland performed in Manila last month, and this September another K-pop group would be visiting for a one-night only concert. Just like Momoland, Seventeen or SVT, is currently one of the hottest K-pop acts in Korea and internationally. Despite being called “Seventeen,” the boy group is actually composed of 13 talented members who can sing and dance as good as they look. As their name suggests, most of their songs evoke the feeling of being young and seventeen.
The group debuted last 2015 and has been releasing hits after hits such as “Don’t Wanna Cry,” “Oh My!,” “Clap,” and “Very Nice.” Tickets are available at SM Tickets outlets and SM Tickets online.

Tips for purchasing tickets and watching the show:
- Upon buying tickets, check the policy regarding the ticket transaction.
- If you’re watching with a big group, check how many tickets can be issued per person.
- To be updated on last-minute changes, follow the social media pages of the event organizer, the venue, or the artist.
- Only buy tickets from the official distributor to avoid being scammed.
- If you have a car and want to secure the best parking spot, come early at the venue. This is achievable by adjusting your travel time to avoid traffic.
- Arriving early also helps for those whose tickets are for free seating only.
- Practice basic courtesy. Do not take someone’s reserved seats.
- Follow the rules and regulation of the venue. Check what is allowed to bring inside the venue.
- Make sure to follow the dress code, if any, of the venue.
- Keep an eye on your personal belongings to avoid theft.
