Many people say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Whether or not this is backed up by science does not really matter, because we already know nothing beats enjoying a silog (fried rice, egg, and meat) with a hot cup of coffee in the morning to awaken our senses and fuel us for the day.

Although enjoying a good breakfast is a rare occasion for those who have work to do and appointments to catch, there are now plenty of all-day breakfast restaurants in Manila to help sate pancake cravings even when they hit late in the day! Read on and see if you’ll have a new hangout place where you can meet all your breakfast yearnings.

1. Sunnies Café

Branches:
B3 Unit 748 Bonifacio High Street, BGC, Taguig City
2nd floor, Bridgeway, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City
Ground level, Corte de las Palmas, Alabang Town Center, Muntilupa City
Ground Level, UP Town Center, Katipunan Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City

Sunnies Café will attract you with an aesthetic that will surely send you to Instagram heaven, but its all-day breakfast dishes will wake you up and make you stay! This Los Angeles-inspired café serves everything from brunches to cocktails, so you’re sure to find something of your liking here even at night.

If you happen to pass by any of their branches in the morning, start your day with Chicken and Pancakes (PhP280). It is composed of boneless fried chicken, huge buttermilk pancakes, and a sunny-side up egg to complete the plate. You can also pair it with any of their famous milkshakes (PhP190)!

2. Early Bird Breakfast Club

Branches:
Unite C G/F Fort Pointe 2 Building, 28th Street, BGC, Taguig

Early Bird Breakfast Club believes in the philosophy of positivity, which you’ll surely catch once you step in any of its branches. Designed with lively colors from the walls to the decors down to the chairs, this café is truly meant for the early birds who want to start their day right. For those who can’t make it in the morning, you can still fly by in the afternoon to enjoy some breakfast goodness.

For a pick-me-up that’s good anytime, try the Yin and Yang Champorado (PhP275) made with Belgian dark and white chocolate served with crunchy and sweet dilis (anchovies) on the side.

3. Denny’s

Although our local breakfast fares are to die for, American breakfast meals are also one of a kind. Even though they do not feature our staple white rice, they are heavy enough to keep you loaded for hours. One place to try a truly American breakfast is Denny’s. The popular American food chain, which opened its first store in Manila in 2016, is the best place for filling breakfast meals regardless if you’re craving for omelets, pancakes, or even local dishes like adobo (meat cooked in vinegar and soy sauce).

For a complete Denny’s experience, you can try their All-American Slam (PhP395) that consists of eggs with cheddar cheese, two sausages, two bacon strips, toast, and hash browns.

4. B&P

Address: Cyberscape Alpha, Garnet Road, Ortigas Center, Pasig City

Enjoy a different take on pandesal at B and P.

Stepping into B&P will, no doubt, put you straight into a good breakfast mood. Their baby blue wall featuring drawings of sunny-side up eggs might convince you to order your favorite silog meal, but check the menu first! B&P features a different take on our favorite breakfast treats as they aim to give a modern twist to classic favorites.

One unique dish you could try is Mang Benedicts (PhP285). The dish is a fun and unique reimagining of the classic eggs benedict, where instead of English muffins, malunggay pandesal (bread roll) is used. And in lieu of the usual sauage, chicken longganisa (sausage) is used. To keep it familiar, some traditional elements, like the classic poached egg and hollandaise sauce, are retained.

5. The Breakfast Experience

Branch: 85 Scout Fuentebella corner Tomas Morato, Quezon City

Are The Breakfast Experience’s pancakes really the fluffiest in town? See for yourself!

Tomas Morato regulars will also find a good all-day breakfast restaurant in the form of The Breakfast Experience . Their place might be small on the outside, but the inside is packed with knick-knacks and little reminders here and there to remind you that, yes, breakfast is important.

After you’ve soaked in all the cuteness of the interiors, try one of the famous items on their menu—pancakes. The Breakfast Experience’s Signature Pancakes (PhP125) are huge, thick, and fluffy, very much unlike the flat ones most breakfast joints typically serve. You can also order it with fruits and chocolates, or even matcha!

6. Ally's All-Day Breakfast Place

Branches:
2/F #22 Malingap Street, Teachers Village West, Quezon City
G/F Manhattan Parkway, Araneta Center, Cubao, Quezon City

Another quaint restaurant in Quezon City that is sure to brighten up your mornings is Ally's All-Day Breakfast Place. The café serves your usual morning favorites and a good selection of pasta dishes, but it’s their pancakes that make them a standout.

We all have our preferences in terms of eating our pancake, and Ally’s will help you with yours. Their Design-Your-Own Pancake (starts at PhP105) feature allows you to mix and match various flavors, toppings, and syrups and add-ons according to your liking. But if you’re not in the mood to be creative they also have pancake selections to choose from.

7. Single Origin

Branches:
2/F C3, Bonifacio High Street Central, Bonifacio Global City
G/F Edades Bldg. Amorsolo Drive Rockwell
G/F Greenbelt 3 Ayala Center Makati

Since we’re talking about breakfast, good coffee should always be included in the discussion. One good coffee spot that will perk you up in the morning (or in any time of the day) is Single Origin. The coffee shop prides itself in sourcing its coffee beans from a single farm or a single geographic origin.

For coffee aficionados who want to try something different, try Single Origin’s Crème Brulee Coffee (PhP200). It’s a concoction made of espresso, caramel, one part milk, and one part foam, finished with torched sugar or crème brulee on top. Drink it alongside one of their bestsellers, The S.O. French Toast (PhP285), which consists of brioche bread topped with maple syrup, whipped cream, and blueberries.

There’s no shame in loving breakfast and it’s definitely okay to have it any time of day! Let us know in the comments section which of these all-day breakfast joints you will be visiting soon.
