When The Podium reopened its doors last October 2017 after undergoing renovation, it didn’t only carry new store names and boutiques. To the delight of all hungry stomachs within the vicinity, the mall also gave way to a new food haven: The Corner Market. It not only sets itself apart by being the first-ever indoor farmers market, but also by catering to many up-and-coming food merchants and small-time eateries.

Not to say that their flavors fall short just because they’re young. New names such as The Rabbit Hole Manila, Birdhouse, Stockwell Cafe, Gusto, and Char, also promise to deliver food packed with delectable flavors. Joining them are old-time favorite food stores like El Chupacabra, Sultan Mediterranean Grill, and Ca Phe Saigon. Food choices in the Corner Market can range from simple burgers to truffle mushroom linguine, making sure that whatever you’re craving for, you’ll definitely find it under one convenient banner.

Philippine’s first-ever Nara Thai Cuisine branch landed in Ortigas last February, making several Thai-food addicts excited with what the restaurant has to offer. The original branches of Nara occupied most of Bangkok’s streets, and the company is widely known to be one of the best restaurants in its home country.

Besides the usual Thai restaurant staples such as pho (Vietnamese rice noodle soup) and phad tha*i (stir-fried noodles), Nara Thai also offers other dishes such as *yum phak khom (fried spinach leaves with minced pork and prawn chili lime dip), sa tay (barbecued turmeric with coconut marinated pork or chicken), khao niew ma muang (mango and sticky rice with milk), and so much more. To help bring down the bulk of the meal they just ate, diners can choose between cocktail drinks, beers, and shakes. You certainly won’t get over these oriental flavors that soon!

Here’s some good news: you don’t have to go as far as Makati or Bonifacio Global City to quell your Motorino Pizzeria Napoletana cravings, as the famous New York Style pizza now has a branch in Ortigas. Found at the fifth floor of The Podium Mall, the charming interiors of the restaurant is as Instagra-able as the food that it offers.

Besides the various pizza options in the menu, there are also pasta dishes like the classic Alfredo and creamy mushroom. But if you’re getting tired of the common pizza and pasta from your usual Italian restaurant, they also offer different antipasto dishes (appetizers in Italian meals). Surely, your first visit to this pizza place won’t be your last!

The famous eight-flavor rainbow xiaolongbao (Chinese steamed bun) of Paradise Dynasty is now available at the East! The famous Singaporean restaurant chain’s Ortigas branch is its second outlet in the Philippines, with its first being in S Maison, Pasay City. Along with xiaolongbao, other savory meals to indulge yourself with includes Kung Pao chicken, glutinous rice stuffed in red dates, fried rice in Shanghai style, pork dumplings, radish pastry, and stir fried vegetables.

New menu items are also included in the Ortigas branch, including their charcoal custard lava bun (exclusively available at the Podium branch), chilled baby spinach with vermicelli, and crispy-fried crystal prawns tossed in salted egg yolk. This is as close as anyone can get to the sumptuous Singaporean offerings.

Hokkaido-based shop BAKE Cheese Tart finally has its flagship store in the Philippines located at The Podium Mall. Each cheese tart is made from fresh rice cheese from Hokkaido, baked by trained Sapporo patissiers, and brought to our shores—to the pleasure of Filipinos with a sweet tooth.

Each cheese tart consists of a fluffy mousse filling with cream cheese fillings, with a hint and balance of saltiness, creaminess, and tartness, while its pre-baked crust is made crispy through a double bake method and a unique blend of flours. Before landing in Ortigas, BAKE cheese tart used to only have branches in Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Thailand. Consider their choice to open here a stroke of luck that you wouldn’t want to take for granted.
