Metro Manila weather forecast for the week

With the Amihan or Northeast monsoon out of the Philippine territory, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecasts that the weather will be mostly dry this week as the country braces for summer. Meanwhile, motorists should abide by the law as authorities state that they will still continue to arrest traffic violators onsite despite circulating news saying otherwise.

The weather will be sunny this week with possible of light showers in some parts of the Metro.

Last week, the Northeast monsoon’s cold breeze was felt across Manila. Sadly, cool weather in the city ends this week. The PAGASA reports that the northeast monsoon will be gone the following weeks and hot weather will persist for the next few weeks. The agency also said that summer might start by the end of March.

According to Accuweather, this week’s weather will be consistently sunny with chances of light showers on some days and areas. In preparation for the ever-changing and unpredictable weather, add an umbrella and a piece of outerwear to your everyday essentials.

To get credible and accurate updates in this era of fake news, it’s best to check the official pages and websites of government agencies.

Last week, a message circulated saying that the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will no longer apprehend traffic violators onsite due to the “No Contact Apprehension Policy” (NCAP) in which MMDA officers watch motorists through Closed Circuit Television (CCTV).

The agency debunks this message as fake news and tells the public that they will still arrest violators on the road, so motorists should still practice proper road etiquettes and follow traffic rules.

They say that some of the best things in life are free, but in a world like ours today, it’s hard to come by free stuff. Still, if you’re looking for some entertainment while on a budget, the University of the Philippine’s (UP) Film Institute hosts free movie screenings every month of selected films ranging from local indie movies to award-winning classic foreign flicks. The institute frequently updates the movie schedule in its website and it is open to non-UP students.
