With the non-stop downpours and the ber months already here, what does one need in this cold weather? Well, there’s only one answer, and it’s not your favorite jacket or scarf—it’s bulalo. Some might think you must travel to Tagaytay for some of this hot soup filled with beef shanks, but you can get the best bulalo in Metro Manila. Check our list of the best bulalo restaurants here in Metro Manila!
1. SARSA Kitchen + Bar
Where: Sarsa Makati- Frabella 1 Building, 109 Rada st., Legazpi Village, Makati

SARSA gained fame because their Sizzling Kansi, priced at PhP580, is suitable for two persons. You won’t find this best bulalo in Manila swimming in soup; it is served on a sizzling plate filled with a buttery gravy sauce infused with batwan. Foodies looking to try new dishes might find this innovative take on kansi worth its hefty tag.
2. Bulaluhan sa España

Bulaluhan sa España is just a simple eatery along Sampaloc, Manila, but one of the best bulalo in Metro Manila; it is a locals’ favorite and even drivers after a long day of work
This bulalo restaurant is only for PhP158, and you’ll get to taste their Regular Bulalo, which is their take on the classic bulalo. At the same time, their Special Bulalo is priced at PhP258. Patrons also love to combine this best bulalo in Manila with Bulaluhan’s version of chicharong bulaklak (deep-fried pork intestines) and liempo (grilled pork belly). The broth is simmered for three hours to ensure the meat will fall off the bones.
3. Patpat’s Kansi

If you’re an Ilo-Ilo native and sourly miss kansi, Patpat’s Kansi might be the place you need to visit to taste the best bulalos in Metro Manila. This bulalo restaurant is a down-to-earth eatery that serves a delicious bowl of kansi—the best bulalo in Manila Ilonggo’s version of bulalo is made sour by adding batwan fruit in the soup.
You can opt to try their Kansi Bulalo for Php250 if you’re a fan of tapping the marrow out of the bone; this best bulalo in Metro Manila serves Kansi Laman for PhP220 to get a bowl of meaty bulalo to eat straight with your rice.
4. Tapsi ni Vivian at Bulaluhan

Tapsi ni Vivian at Bulaluhan is famous for its silog meals (a combination of fried rice and egg paired with various types of meat), but their bulalo is also getting a lot of buzz.
In this bulalo restaurant, One order will set you back PhP519, but it’s suitable for sharing with four people. If you’ve already slurped all the soup, just ask for another round (and another) because refills are free.
5. R&J Bulalohan

Foodies near Ortigas need not go too far to have some bulalo because R&J Bulalohan is right around the corner. R&J is a humble and one of the best bulalo in Metro Manila, an open-spaced eatery, so expect to endure humidity, especially when dining in the afternoon.
This bulalo restaurant takes pride in their version of bulalo, which they call “bulalo ng mga artista” (bulalo of the celebrities), as many celebrities have already tried their famous dish. The best bulalo in this restaurant in Metro Manila is their Bulalo Special, priced at PhP519, suitable for four persons, what’s been getting rave reviews.
6. Bulaluhan sa Ramirez
Where: 55 N. Ramirez St., Galas Quezon City, Philippines
Operating Hours: 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM
Whether the classic nilaga or sinigang, this joint’s versions of bulalo are equally good.

What started as a small family business selling goto (congee) in a push cart is now the best bulalo joint in Metro Manila. Bulaluhan sa Ramirez has gotten so famous that even stars like Vice Ganda and Boy Abunda have frequented the place.
Their version of Special Bulalo, priced at PhP275, is a favorite among patrons because, for the low price, they can get a hearty bowl of the classic best bulalo in Manila. Their Sinigang na Bulalo, priced at PhP165, is also a well-loved dish for those itching for something different.
7. BullChef (The Bulalo Chef)
Where: Kapitolyo #4 East Capitol Drive, Barangay Kapitolyo, Pasig City
This place might be a hole-in-the-wall, but their bulalo is huge!

BullChef, or The Bulalo Chef, is a bulalo restaurant that uses the owner’s family recipe in creating their *bulalo, so expect a homey, delicious hot bowl of soup when you dine. Although the Ultimate Bulalo, priced at PhP629, is the star of the place, their AsimBull is a serious contender.
AsimBull is their version of bulalo with sinigang broth (sour soup). Customers considered this the best bulalo in Metro Manila since they love the thick, tangy soup paired with the buttery marrows. Foodies who love their bulalo can leave a comment and even a photo on the wall of the bulalo restaurant.
