PAL Manila-Caticlan Flights to Operate in NAIA Terminal 2 Starting June 1

This week in Metro Manila, a new month is about to begin and plenty of changes are on its way. New land and air traffic amendments are about to take part in the city. The change of weather is also coming and another school year is about to begin.
PAL Manila-Caticlan Flights to Operate in NAIA Terminal 2 Starting June 1
PAL flights to Caticlan will be moving to NAIA Terminal 2.
Starting June 1, Philippine Airlines’ (PAL) flight from Manila to Caticlan will be operating at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2. The Caticlan-bound flights were previously operating at NAIA Terminal 3.
Passengers that are Million Milers, Premier Elite, and Elite Members will be able to enjoy the PAL Mabuhay Lounge in the said airport terminal. Meanwhile, passengers with a connecting flight to Terminal 3 may approach the Transfer Desk in Terminal 2 arrival area for assistance.
Ticketholders are advised to take note of the change to avoid missing their flight.
Weather Advisory for May 29 – June 4
Thunderstorms are on its way this week.
This week, rains and thunderstorms are well on their way into the city. Spots of thunderstorms in the morning will be prevalent all throughout the week, while showers are also highly possible. In the afternoon, the weather will be warm and thunderstorms will also continue to occur all through nighttime.
The aggressive weather signals the beginning of a new season, thus bringing of gears like umbrellas and jackets are best advised especially for frequent commuters. Traffic will also be affected with the new season. Those who commute on a daily basis are advised to allot extra minutes on their travel time for traffic buildups.
Rainy Season to Start This June
Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) advise public that the rainy season will be starting this week.
The government agency says that the range of date is either from May 28 to June 2, plus or minus 5 days. The increasing frequency of rain and thunderstorms combined with the humid weather are signs that the country is transitioning from dry to rainy season.
Despite the changing of season, PAGASA hasn’t detected any new typhoon yet to hit to the country.

June 5 is the official start of School Year 2017-2018, according to the Department of Education (DepEd). The information is included in the agency’s memorandum entitled School Calendar for School Year 2017-2018, addressed to their regional offices and to both public and private schools.
The memo also indicates that private schools may deviate from the said date, provided that they start not earlier than the first Monday of June and not later than the last day of August.
The Department of Trade and Industries (DTI) on the other hand, has also released an official list of suggested retail price list for school supplies on their website. The list should provide as a guide for consumers when shopping.
The official end of the school year shall be on April 6, 2018.

DOTr Expected to Sign PUV Modernization Program
Jeepneys will soon be modernized.
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) aims to sign the PUV Modernization Program before the end of the month. The program will contain the Omnibus Franchising Guidelines (OFG) to improve traffic and transportation in the country. It also aims to eliminate ‘colorum’ vehicles and to rationalize the routes based on the needs of each local government unit (LGU).
To help in the modernization, the government will also provide financial assistance programs to operators and drivers of public utility jeepneys (PUJ). While the final design for the new jeepneys is yet to be released, the government aims to comply with Euro-4 standard vehicles or vehicles that could use renewable energy.
