A new provincial bus terminal will be opening on Pasay City on April 4. The move was initiated by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), as the contract in the original terminal located at Uniwide Coastal Mall in Parañaque City, has already expired and will no longer be renewed.
The new terminal known as the Southwest Integrated Provincial Transport System (SWIPTS) will temporarily have its new home at the lot adjacent to HK Sun Plaza. The lot owned by the MMDA will extend from Macapagal to Roxas Boulevard. Seventeen slots will be dedicated for loading provincial city buses, while 11 slots will be for unloading. Meanwhile, six bays will be allotted for city buses for both loading and unloading.
SWIPTS is part of the Integrated Transport System (ITS), a program initiated by the government to have three central bus terminals located around Metro Manila to help stabilize the traffic situation in the city.

This week the whole country will commemorate the fall of Bataan on April 9, known as Araw ng Kagitingan or Day of Valor, and will celebrate its 75th Anniversary. The special event remembers the efforts of the Filipino and American soldiers in Bataan during World War II against their fight with the Japanese Army.
April 9 is declared as a non-working holiday by virtue of Executive Order No. 203, series of 1987, and will fall on a Sunday. Araw ng Kagitingan also coincides with Philippine Veterans Week, celebrated from April 5 to 11, to honor the Filipino war Veterans who served and fought for the country.
A wreath laying ceremony for the 2017 Philippine Vetrans Week is scheduled at the Libingan ng mga Bayani, Fort Bonifacio, Makati City.
