In the movie Passengers, Jim Preston (Chris Pratt) and Aurora Lane (Jennifer Lawrence) are traveling through space to a colony planet. However, their sleep chambers malfunction. As a result, Jim and Aurora awaken 90 years earlier than when they’re supposed to reach their destination. You can watch this film and discover the reason why they wake up before the spaceship gets to where they’re headed. The cast also includes Michael Sheen, Laurence Fishburne, Andy Garcia, and Vince Foster. Passengers is directed by Morten Tyldum and written by Jon Spaihts.

If an action-packed movie is what you’re after this weekend, you may want to watch Assassin’s Creed. Directed by Justin Kurzel, the movie revolves around Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) as he finds out his connection to a secret society back in the 15th century. The revelation about his ancestral roots leads to the discovery of his knowledge and skills that can take on an oppressive organization in the present day. The cast of Assassin’s Creed also includes Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, and Brendan Gleeson.

Twenty Questions is a play that revolves around friends Jigs and Yumi. They are locked in a room for 24 hours as part of a tradition among friends. In the room, they talk about things such as love, lust, friendship, and relationships, which paves the way for their better understanding of each other. Twenty Questions is written and directed by Juan Ekis and has won the Carlos Palanca Award in 2003. You can watch the play at The Axon in Green Sun Hotel on January 6 at 8:00 PM; January 7, 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM; or January 8, 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Tickets are priced at PhP650.
Concert

Local singer Michael Pangilinan is set to perform at Sincerely Yours, Michael Pangilinan on January 7, 8:00 PM, at the Music Museum. There will also be performances by special guests Ai Ai Delas Alas and Arnel Ignacio. Michael Pangilinan is a member of the band Harana and was one of the contestants in the TV show Your Face Sounds Familiar (Season 2). Ticket prices range from PhP824 to PhP2,060.

Add a colorful touch to your 2017 by joining the Color Manila Run Year 5. It will be held on January 8 at the SM Mall of Asia grounds in Pasay City. The race will start as early as 4:00 AM for the 21K distance, 6:00 AM for 10K, 6:20 AM for 5K, and 6:30 AM for 3K. All participants will get race kits containing items needed for the race, particularly the color powder packet to make the run more fun and colorful. The Color Manila Run aims to encourage everyone to run through a color festival so they can bring out the real fun and energy in the race. Fees range from PhP950 to PhP1,700.
