TRAFFIC NEWS/ADVISORY

Parañaque City to restore number coding scheme

current events Manila October 2016

Starting the month of October, the Parañaque City proper is taking the Unified Vehicle Volume Reduction Program commonly known as the number coding scheme anew. However, the traffic system will have a window period of 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily. During the first week of implementation, no violation ticket will be issued to offenders of the coding scheme, but they will just be informed by the traffic enforcers of the new regulation.

This said traffic scheme is implemented to help ease the worsening traffic in Southern Metro Manila due to ongoing infrastructure projects. However, four major roads that Parañaque shares with Pasay were not included in the scheme. These roads, Macapagal Avenue, Roxas Boulevard, Airport Road, and MIA Road, lead to Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

WEATHER ADVISORY

A stray of morning rain showers will dominate the Metro Manila skies in the first week of October. Commuters are advised to watch out for flooded areas and look for alternative routes before hitting the main roads. Individuals heading to appointments must avoid traversing in low-lying, flood-prone areas to avoid delays. Bringing an umbrella, a poncho, or a sweater is still recommended.
