ROAD CONSTRUCTIONS AFFECTING TRAFFIC
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced its scheduled road reblocking/repair/improvement/equipment installation affecting Eastern Manila:
From March 31 to January 19, 2018, Manila Water Co., Inc. will construct North Pasig - Package 1, Main Sewer Interceptor Network. This is along E. Rodriguez Avenue (C-5) Bagumbayan and Ugong Norte, Quezon City; Ugong (C-5) Doña Julia Vargas, Bagong Ilog and Pineda (Shaw Blvd.), Pasig City.
From April 1 to September 22, 2017, DPWH-NCR will upgrade the drainage along national roads, Katipunan St., Concepcion Dos, Marikina City.
From April 4 to June 12, 2016, Integrated Contractor & Plumbing Works, Inc. will construct drainage manholes and pipe tapping to existing concrete drainage manholes along Sto. Cristo St. cor. Shaw Blvd., Mandaluyong City.

With the rising temperatures due to El Niño, people are now more prone to heat stroke. It is a health condition in which the body temperature reaches 40°C or higher. Symptoms include flushed skin, increased heart rate, rapid and shallow breathing, nausea, and even seizures.
To avoid having heat stroke, one should stay away from prolonged sun exposure. Wearing of loose, light clothing and a wide-brimmed hat or cap when outdoors and keeping oneself hydrated are advisable.

Pres. Aquino recently signed Republic Act No. 10754 which grants value-added tax exemption benefits to persons with disabilities (PWDs). This is in line with the Expanded Senior Citizens Act that grants VAT exemption on top of their 20-percent discount on certain products and services.
Local Absentee Voting Schedule
The casting of votes by local absentee voters is scheduled on April 27 to 29, from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Government employees and officials, police, military, and media practitioners who will be assigned outside their designated voting precincts are entitled to local absentee voting as long as their application has been approved by the COMELEC. Meanwhile, the Overseas Filipino Workers have started voting since April 9, 2016 and will continue until the Election Day on May 9, 7:00 PM in Philippine time.
