ABS-CBN has announced that it will host a Vice Presidential Debate on April 17, 2016, 5:30 PM. The first Vice Presidential Debate which happened last April 10 at the University of Santo Tomas was officially administered by the Philippine Commission on Elections and was aired thru CNN Philippines.


ENTERTAINMENT AND EVENTS IN QUEZON CITY

An Environmental Concert for Earth Day

The Mga Anak ni Inang Daigdig (MAID), an environmental performing arts group from the Smokey Mountain, will be having a concert in support to the Earth Day 2016 Celebration. The Environmental Concert called Likas-Kayang Pilipinas is happening on April 21, 7:00 PM, at the Skydome, SM City North EDSA. An environmental workshop and art exhibit will also be held in the same venue a day before the concert or on April 20.

CineFilipino Film Festival 2016

The CineFilipino Film Festival is having a week-long screening at UP Cine Adarna courtesy of UP Cineastes’ on April 18 to 23. Ticket price is PhP150. Most-watched films during the first screening, which took place last March 16 to 22 in various cinemas, were Sakaling Hindi Makarating, Ang Taba Ko Kasi, and Ned’s Project, which was awarded as the best film.

SUMMER WORKSHOPS IN QUEZON CITY

Tweed & Twine's Resin Jewelry Workshop is happening on April 23 to 24, 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon, at Common Room in Katipunan, Quezon City. This two-day session teaches the participants on how to prepare and prime their molds, create charms, and make pendants out of scratch materials. Registration fee costs PhP3500 inclusive of a take-home starter kit and workshop supplies. Slots are limited to 8 persons only.

The Tropical Watercolor workshop will take place on April 23 at Hillside Cafe & Juice Bar in Diliman, Quezon City. This workshop encourages the participants to create and discover their own styles as well as to learn tricks in painting without white palette. Registration fee is PhP2000 inclusive of watercolor paper, brushes, workshop zine, and snacks and refreshments. Participants can also choose their own palette and watercolor palette for an additional fee of PhP1000.

MORE EVENTS IN THE METRO!

Every April 22nd is the international celebration of Earth Day but numerous environment-themed events are being held the entire month of April. In Manila, the National Geographic Channel will hold the NatGeo Earth Day Run 2016 on April 17, starting at Bonifacio Global City while the finish line will be at McKinley West. Participants can choose from four categories: 5km, 10km, 21km, and 42km.

Meanwhile, Earth Day Jam, the longest-running free concert for the environment, is happening on April 23 at SM by the Bay, SM Mall of Asia, at 5 PM. Performers include Noel Cabangon, Kitchie Nadal, Barbie Almalbis, 6CycleMind, and Slapshock, among others.
