Millions of tourists arrive at the shores of Cebu every year to see why it is among the top islands in Asia. While visitors normally go to the beaches, natural attractions, and tourist sites of the province, travelers can also check out these new places to visit in Cebu this August 2019.
Headed to the Queen City of the South anytime soon? The following are some of the new places to visit in Cebu this August 2019.
1. Sundaze Farm
Address: Valencia, Carcar, Cebu
Operating hours: Wednesday to Sunday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Fees: PhP50; PhP40 for students and senior citizens; free for children up to two years old; PhP100 corkage fee on each entry of food and drinks
Date opened: February 20, 2019

Carcar is known for its heritage houses, chicharon (deep-fried pork rind), and lechon (suckling pig). But this southern Cebu city has an Instagram-worthy attraction that opened its doors recently. Sundaze Farm was once the rest house of the Veloso family, who graciously opened the place to the public on February 20. The place features several areas where you can simply lounge around and enjoy the view. Flowers and greenery surround the place, which can be rented for prenuptial pictorials. The farm also has tents for guests who want to experience glamping. A grill, tables, and chairs are also available for glamping guests.
How to get to Sundaze Farm: From the Cebu South Bus Terminal, get on a bus headed for Carcar City and get off at Gaisano Carcar. Get on a motorcycle-for-hire to Sundaze Farm.
2. Tulips Valley
Address: Gawi, Oslob, Cebu
Operating hours: Monday to Sunday, 8:00 AM to 10:30 PM
Entrance fee: free
Date opened: April 15, 2019

The 10,000 Roses Café in Cordova is a sight to see once the sun sets over the horizon. But the southern town of Oslob also has its own version of this unique tourist destination, the Tulips Valley in Barangay Gawi. Owner Mancini Romares is hoping the place will become another stopover for visitors to Oslob aside from the whale sharks. The garden has 3,000 colored plastic tulips that are mostly made of used plastic spoons. In addition, the place also features a breathtaking view of the sea. Guests can also set up camp at the place and take a dip in the adjacent beach.
How to get to Tulips Valley: From the Cebu South Bus Terminal, get on a bus headed for Oslob City and tell the driver to let you off at Tulips Valley.
3. Don Meon Garden
Address: Sitio Madrekakawan, Barangay Adlaon, Cebu City
Operating hours: Monday to Sunday, 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM
Entrance fee: PhP50
Date opened: February 28, 2019

When Cebuanos want to take a break from the hustle and bustle of city life, they typically head for the hills, so to speak. The mountains of Cebu have another place where you can spend a lazy weekend afternoon communing with nature. Don Moen Garden is one of the newest flower gardens in Cebu. Aside from the wide swathes of greenery in the area, the place also features colorful structures where you can have a refreshing view of nature. Similar to other flower gardens, guests should not pick the flowers and always clean up after if they want to dine at the place.
How to get to Don Meon Garden: From Ayala Center Cebu, you can ride a jeepney headed for Pit-Os in Talamban. Tell the driver you are going to Don Meon Garden.
4. Werpa Food Park
Address: Cabreros Street, Sitio Panaghiusa, Basak San Nicolas, Cebu City
Operating hours: Monday to Sunday, 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM

Most of the chill places in Cebu are found in the uptown area of the city which is not an appealing option for residents of the south. But this is all in the past after Werpa Food Park opened its doors on June 8. Located in Basak San Nicolas, the food park features a chic and comfortable ambiance to make anyone feel at home. Aside from the stylish furnishings, the place also features several food options guests can choose from.
How to get to Werpa Food Park: From SM City Cebu, ride a jeepney headed for Bulacao or Pardo. Tell the driver to let you off at Werpa Food Park.
5. Eat All You Can Ni Juan Seafoods Buffet
Address: GND Building, F. Cabahug Street, Cebu City
Operating hours: Monday to Sunday, 10:00 AM to 12 midnight
Entrance fee: PhP199 for the unlimited eat-all-you-can buffet

Even as Cebu already has several restaurants offering eat-all-you-can buffet lunch and dinner, but this did not stop Eat All You Can Ni Juan Seafoods Buffet from opening a branch in the city. The main attraction of the restaurant is the fresh seafood it offers in its buffet. Guests can feast on shrimp, baked scallops, talaba (oysters), and lato (sea grapes). Aside from seafood, the buffet table also has buttered chicken, humba (sweet and saucy pork dish), and kalderetang manok (chicken stew), among others.
How to get to Eat All You Can Ni Juan Seafoods Buffet: From Ayala Center Cebu, you can ride a jeepney headed for Mabolo and get off at the intersection close to Landers Superstore before riding another jeepney headed for the Panagdait area. 6. Blu-pool Waterpark Naga

Cebu may have the best beaches in the world, but some people may not keen in getting too much vitamin sea. Due to this, they may want to consider Blu-pool Waterpark Naga. This newly-opened waterpark is located inside the Guanzon Beach Resort and offers a couple of swimming pools, waterslides, and cottages. In addition, guests can rent rooms at the adjacent beach if they want to spend the night at the place.

7. Ochado

This new kid on the block has already piqued the interest of milk tea lovers in the Queen City of the South.

Ochado is the latest bubble tea place to open its doors in Cebu. The word comes from two Japanese words Ocha (tea) and Chado (Japanese way). This means the place makes tea the Japanese way. This Singapore-based brand offers a wide selection of milk tea products, including pearl milk tea, cocoa, and Milo milk tea. Despite being the new kid on the block, the place is already starting to have a following among the milk tea-loving population in Cebu.
How to get to Ochado: From Ayala Center Cebu, you can ride a jeepney headed for Labangon at the Ayala Center Cebu Jeepney Terminal. Just tell the driver to let you off at the Casa Mora Towers.
Cebu may be known for its beaches, but the Queen City of the South has more to offer to both locals and visitors.
