The holiday rush is more keenly felt in the city with the closure of a major thoroughfare. Despite this, interesting attractions like an all-day breakfast café, pasalubong shop, and a unique maze garden draw locals and tourists to enjoy what Cebu has to offer. Completing the Christmas feel in the metro is a benefit concert featuring Jose Mari Chan.

Angkas halts service
Angkas stops operations in Cebu and the rest of the country.
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has announced that motorcycle-hailing service Angkas is “considered closed.” This is after the Department of Transportation (DOTr) issued a cease-and-desist order to Angkas due to operating without a business permit.
In a statement released in social media, Angkas urged DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade to amend Department Order 2015-11, which classifies all forms of public land transport, including transportation network vehicles services (TNVS). For his part, Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña has said that while Angkas is beneficial to the public, providing another means of livelihood to Angkas drivers is “not his priority.”
