Luckily, Cebu’s shopping and dining scene is still bustling as the end of the year approaches.

Carnivores, rejoice! You can satisfy your meat cravings at Slate District, one of the top dining spots in Cebu, particularly in the Mandaue Reclamation Area. The restaurant’s name comes from a type of rock they use in plating their dishes. Slate is known for their specialties, like Jack Slate chicken. One can also enjoy grilled baby back ribs and herb pork steak at reasonable prices.

There are many reasons why people love ramen, but one thing that holds people back is that a bowl of this Japanese noodle soup can be expensive. Turning this notion around is Ramen Dojo in Cebu City. They offer all flavors of Ramen at PhP150. Diners can choose beef, pork, miso, spicy, shrimp, mixed seafood, and spicy Sichuan ramen. They also offer side dishes and chahan (Japanese-style fried rice) combo sets.

First opened in 1969, Ding How Dimsum House introduced dim sum to Cebu City with their specialty dish, original steamed, fried rice. They were also the first to offer all-day dim sum dining in Cebu. The restaurant shut down in 2004, but after 20 years, the brand reopened its doors in Robinsons Galleria. Other heirloom dishes they have incorporated into the menu include baked shaopao (buns), beef steak, ham suy kok (fried dumpling), kuchay (Chinese chives) dumplings, and pork trotters.

4. Michel's Bistro

For a taste of Mediterranean fusion cuisine, adventurous foodies can go to Michel’s Bistro. It is owned by French consul Michel Lhuillier. Michel’s boasts of being the first restaurant of its kind in Cebu, bringing together French, Italian, and Spanish influences in their cooking. Specialty dishes at Michel’s include Paella Valenciana Michel and Chicken aux Herbe Romarin. They also have affordable pizza, pasta, and combo meals. Michel’s also offers a cashback card that diners can use at over 50,000 merchants.

For a different kind of al fresco dining experience, foodies can head to Joaquin Runway View Grill. Joaquin specializes in Bacolod chicken inasal (grilled chicken). They also offer grilled pork, meat, and fish and street food favorites like isaw (barbecued intestines), atay (liver), batikon (gizzard), dugo (blood), and chicken skin. Since the place is about five kilometers or 15 minutes from the airport, diners can watch planes come and go while eating.
The store also offers delivery via Maxim and FoodPanda.
6. Plantation Bay Resort Bazaar

Plantation Bay is more than a resort but also a shopping destination.

Plantation Bay Bazaar is located at the front of the lobby of Plantation Bay Resort and Spa. It carries high-end souvenir items such as bags, handicrafts, apparel, jewelry, guitars, and coffee table books which can be given as pasalubong (take-home items) for loved ones. Guests can likewise shop for food at the weekend flea market or for sundry items, snacks, and personal effects at the Jamaica Market.

For cockfighting enthusiasts, one place to go to see a match and have good food to boot is Sampok. Sampok, a Cebuano word that means to pair off to fight, is the first Filipino restaurant to merge the Filipino pastime of cockfighting and dining. This dining spot in Cebu features a glass arena where fowls can have a sparring match. Their signature dish is manok Bisaya (native chicken). Guests can also enjoy the sea breeze and ocean view while dining.

Gaisano Town Center is a two-story mall with a grocery on the ground floor and a department store carrying fashion apparel and accessories, appliances, and home furniture and accessories.
