The rehabilitation of the old Mactan-Mandaue Bridge was completed during the first week of August. Thus, the bridge can already accommodate two-way vehicular traffic. Further, the repair of the water pipeline under the Mactan-Mandaue Bridge has also been completed this week. These developments are expected to lessen traffic woes for people traveling on the bridge, especially those going to and from Mandaue City to Mactan Cebu International Airport.

People in Cebu should get their rain gear out since cloud cover will dominate the skyline of the Queen City of the South. Thunderstorms are also expected to happen in the afternoon as the city starts to feel the brunt of the rainy season. The sun may get a chance to peek out on Tuesday morning, but the afternoon may see rain coming down on the city. Due to this, the public can expect heavy traffic in major thoroughfares due to flooding in some parts of the city.

People have started to take their umbrellas, raincoats, and other raingear out of the closet as Cebu is starting to bear the force of the rainy season. One comfort food that is perfect for the cold weather is pochero or stewed beef chunks. One of the best-known restaurants in Cebu offering pochero is the Abuhan group of restaurants, offering an innovative version of the dish, the sizzling pochero, or beef tendons with gravy served on a hot plate.
Aside from Abuhan, a new entry into the culinary landscape of Cebu is also offering its own version of the pochero of Cebu. Common Ground opened around two months ago and is slowly gaining a following among the food-loving residents of Cebu.
The pochero of Abuhan and Common Ground have been featured last year in the Asian Food Channel TV show Must-try Asia.
