WEATHER ADVISORY
Rainy season may cause flooding in major streets in the city.
Gridlocks should be expected in major streets in Metro Cebu as flooding may occur with the onset of the rainy season. Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warn of possible higher rainfall level after announcing the start of the rainy season on May 24. Last week, an hour of rain has caused floods in some streets of Cebu and Mandaue.
TRAFFIC REPORT
Travel time to and from the airport may be affected by new traffic scheme.
A proposed traffic scheme in Mandaue City will affect travel time to and from the Mactan-Cebu International Airport. If implemented, travellers in this route must allot at least a one hour and a half for their travel time. The new traffic scheme aims to decongest traffic on the two bridges connecting Mandaue City and Lapu-Lapu City as the area has been experiencing heavy traffic since May 15.
The new traffic scheme will have northbound jeepneys coming from the Mactan Economic Zone (MEZ) passing through the Fernan Bridge. On the other hand, southbound jeepneys will pass through the Mandaue-Mactan Bridge.
