Airline promo tickets this February 2023 are expected to be cheaper because of the lower fuel surcharge.

Airlines are set to reduce ticket fares starting this February in place of the fuel surcharge ordered by the government, from Level 7 to Level 6.

Level 6 means that fuel surcharge ranges would be from PhP610.37 to PhP4,538.40 for international flights and PhP165 to PhP665 for domestic flights, varying on the distance of the route. [1]

Decreasing fuel surcharge is one of the proven practical ways to sustain further air travel demands, lowering airline promo tickets this February 2023.

Cebu Pacific, Philippines Airlines (PAL), and AirAsia Philippines confirm to local news sources that ticket prices will decrease as they comply with the government’s order to lower the fuel surcharge to Level 6 next month. Passengers will have to book their flights as soon as possible. More cheap flight deals are expected starting this February.

The Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) issued the order to decrease fuel surge, and the authorizing sector recommends that travelers take the opportunity of low ticket prices and avail of airline promo tickets this 2023 by planning and booking their flights this February.

CAB also announces that airlines who want to impose fuel surcharge must file their application to the Office of the Executive Director before February or before the effectivity period.

According to Cebu Pacific president and chief commercial officer Xander Lao, the decrease in fuel surcharge is in line with the airline’s goal to improve travel mobility and address the demands for air travel in this post-pandemic era. Lao added that this signifies a promising trend that will grant passengers affordable air travel. The airline hopes this will encourage travelers to book more flights this year, and Cebu Pacific is excited to offer lower travel fares for every Juan.

Philippines Airlines Spokesperson and Representative Cielo Villaluna expresses that the local airline is willing to comply with the decrease in fuel surcharge issued by CAB. She encourages PAL clients to take advantage of the low fare rates. Next month’s ticket purchases will be applied, and PAL appreciates their clients’ loyalty as they support the Philippines as its flag carrier.

Carlo Carongoy, the spokesman for AirAsia Philippines, said that they would expect a surge in flight booking until the summer, especially since the fuel surcharge continues to decrease. At least eight in every 10 seats offered are booked, [2] and AirAsia Philippines will continue to sustain the momentum, especially with the low fare rates to take effect next month.

Fuel surcharges are imposed by airlines as additional fees to aid in the recovery of fuel costs. These fees are separate from the base fare or the actual amount paid by the passenger.
