Filipino tourists can now apply for a
Korean tourist visa in the Philippines and process other Korean visas starting June 1, after the South Korean Embassy in Manila announced the resumption of visa issuance last May 19.
The application and issuance of all types of visa resume, including the short-term tourist visa, as announced by a notice from the South Korean Embassy, were posted on their official website.
With this announcement, the Embassy expresses that the resumption of the processing of all types of visas shall promote tourism and physical interactions between Filipino tourists from the Philippines and South Korea.
Specific and further details regarding the
Korean visa application requirements in the Philippines will be announced soon, as also declared by the Embassy. The Embassy also added that multiple entry visas which have not yet expired and were issued before April 5, 2020, can still be used by Filipino tourists without any re-application.
Last 2020, the issuance of visas in South Korea was temporarily suspended due to lockdowns and restrictions brought about by the pandemic.
Health and safety protocols should still adhere to this, and medical tests would still be required among
Filipino tourists. Unvaccinated travelers bound to South Korea are required to undergo quarantine. Fully vaccinated travelers shall be exempted. However, fully vaxxed passengers will still need to submit a negative result of their pre-departure antigen test or RT-PCR test.
Travelers may also register their vaccination status via the Q-CODE website before arrival in South Korea. They will then have to scan the generated QR code at the immigration.
The Q-CODE is Korea's official Quarantine Information Advance Input System. Tourists can fill in specific details, including consent to terms and conditions, necessary passport information, health details, and quarantine information.
According to the Embassy, complying with the Consent for Isolation is no longer required.
Details on quarantine protocols can be read on the Embassy's official website.

Stay safe as you travel! Make sure to follow social distancing protocols and observe health precautions. For now, keep safe!
