Pandemic won’t stop Filipinos from being creative, not just in art per se, but in food industries as well. For example, the cafe and other food cultures are among the most popular businesses most young entrepreneurs are now crazy exploring with. In Iloilo City, there’s a newly-opened, go-to place cafe where Ilongos can hang out and chill with—
Hiraya Farm.
This Iloilo's first two-storey
bahay kubo (nipa hut) cafe is located in Sitio Cabunga, Poblacion, New Lucena, Iloilo. In roughly 30-40 minutes drive from the city, the Hiraya Farm is accessible via private and public vehicles. This
go-to place for relaxation is open daily, from 7:00AM-6:00PM, except Monday, which they reserve for disinfection, cleaning, and farm maintenance.
The Hiraya Farm is inspired by the native Filipino phrase, Hiraya Manawari. This phrase means, “May your dreams come true, and your wishes are fulfilled!” The charming place will bring you to a farm-life ambiance. Their authentic dishes, delicacies, the view, and their Filipino unique hospitality are also the reasons why their guests keep on coming back.
When visiting the farm, food junkies may try the diverse choices on their food menus. They serve all-day breakfast meals, sinugba solo meals, kakanin sa bilao kag Ilimnun sa bukid, and native dishes for lunch at an affordable price.
Inside their main cozy two-storey
bahay kubo (nipa hut), they have a rattan
duyan (hammock) corner, perfect for selfies and Instagram feeds. They also have three comfortable small nipa huts to bond with family or friends, with sunflowers in the background. For bigger groups, they have a
Tiripunan hall suitable for guests’ special occasions. Truly a perfect place for a
relaxing weekend getaway!
Apart from the tasty native food, Hiraya Farm also features: wishing well, do-it-yourself barbeque at Banglid area, a small fish oasis corner to massage their guests’ tired feet, an organic garden of fresh veggies, and a camping site inside their mini forest if guests want to try sleeping under the stars.
Since the Hiraya Farm is just a short trip from the city, Ilongos can visit the place anytime to chill away and breathe some fresh air for a while from the fast-paced city life. For reservations, guests may contact
Hiraya Farm’s cellular number, 0968 2391204, or send a private message at their Facebook page:
