Coming to Iloilo this week is exciting because of wonderful things to do and taste in the province. You can jumpstart your early summer adventure at Isla de Gigantes amidst the cloudy weather expected. Locals and travelers may taste the superfood that is avocado by buying some from Iloilo markets. There’s also good news for travelers as the Iloilo Airport is eyed to be upgraded through a public-private partnership (PPP).
Cloudy and stormy weather in Iloilo
A cloudy week in Iloilo is expected.
Tourists in Iloilo City may expect cloudy weather with occasional thunderstorms. Morning showers are anticipated, but the sun will certainly come out. Maximum temperature will be at 34 ºC, while minimum temperature will be at 24 ºC. It is a good time to do island hopping since it won’t be that warm and sunny. However, it will feel cold at night because of the low temperature.
Locals and tourists are advised to bring with them umbrellas as protection for both the rain and the scorching heat of the sun.
Iloilo Airport development
The Iloilo International Airport may see some improvements.

The Iloilo International Airport is one of the provincial airports which the government intends to improve. Aboitiz InfraCapital is looking into upgrading and operating the Iloilo, Bacolod-Silay, Laguindingan, and New Bohol airports. These provincial gateways drew intense interest from privately run businesses because of having less passenger traffic than other airports. The private-public partnership is expected to increase passenger traffic in these areas, as well as improve tourism in their respective regions. The upgrade of the airports will cost PhP148 billion over a 35-year concession period [1].
Avocado is in season
The yellow part of avocado is great for a tasty dessert.

Avocado is abundant during March wherever you may be in the country. This superfood is pear-shaped and has dark purple or green variants. It contains 20 different vitamins and minerals. It doesn’t contain cholesterol and is low saturated fat.
Those who want to make a dessert out of avocado may turn the fruit into avocado ice cream or make an avocado smoothie by blending the fruit with vanilla ice cream. One can also mix avocado with condensed or powdered milk to make a creamy dessert. Another option is to just eat one without adding anything, since an avocado is tasty by itself. Locals and tourists may buy avocadoes from fruit stands and public markets in Iloilo.
