HOLIDAY SEASON
Long weekend for Undas 2016
Filipinos remember their dear departed on All Saints’ Day.
Workers can enjoy a long weekend on the first week of November as Malacañan Palace has declared Monday, October 31, as a special non-working holiday. This is followed by All Saints’ Day on November 1, which is also a holiday.
Since this is the time when people would visit family members who have passed away, the demand for candles and flowers is high. Thus, within the vicinity of churches and cemeteries, vendors pop up to sell these commodities in order to take advantage of the season.
