Attention all vehicle owners and drivers in and around Baguio City! The local enforcers will enforce the
Baguio City Number Coding Ordinance more strictly to alleviate traffic congestion caused by the excessive number of vehicles commuting through the central business district.
Vehicles whose plate numbers ending in 1 and 2 are not allowed on the road on Monday, 3 and 4 on Tuesday, 5 and 6 on Wednesday, 7 and 8 on Thursday, and 9 and 0 on Friday. The
number coding scheme from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on these major roads:
• Marcos Highway from the junction of Legarda Road to Baguio General Hospital Circle;
• Legarda Road to the junction of Marcos Highway;
• Kennon Road from BGH Circle to the junction of Military Cut-off Road;
• Military Cut-off Road to Military Circle;
• South Drive from Military Circle to Teacher’s Camp Road;
• M. Roxas Road to Trancoville bridge;
• Bokawkan Road (including a portion of Magsaysay Avenue below the flyover) from the junction of La Trinidad Road and Trancoville bridge to the intersection of Naguilian Road;
• Naguilian Road from the junction of Bokawkan Road to the intersection of Abanao Street;
• Abanao Street Extension to the junction of Yandoc Street; and
• Yandoc Street-PIO Baguio
If you’re a tourist and planning to visit the city soon, the Baguio City Number Coding Ordinance also applies to you. If you are ever caught violating the number coding scheme rules, you will be fined a standard PhP500.
Since 2023, the city government has tackled the traffic congestion that has plagued the central business district for years, so the Coding Ordinance has started to be implemented.
