A trip to Ilocos won’t be complete without visiting Vigan City. The city is already beautiful all year, but it becomes more stunning and alive during the Ber months because of the Christmas lights and decorations. There are so many historical and beautiful tourist attractions and tourist destinations in Ilocos, but you should check out Plaza Salcedo, right at the heart of Vigan. It is in front of Saint Paul’s Cathedral and is known for the dancing fountain light show at night.
Ilocos has the perfect tourist destination for adventurous souls if you want to have a fun outdoor vacation: the La Paz Sand Dunes. The Laoag-based attraction is popular amongst groups of friends or families who want to enjoy driving around the panoramic view of Laoag City using a 4X4 car. This one is not for the faint of heart since you’ll be going through slopes! The dunes are also perfect for photo ops by the beach shores.

Indeed Ilocos is known mainly for its historical spots, but it is also teeming with natural wonders like the Kapurpurawan Rock Formation. This tourist spot is perfect for Ber months, so you can feel the cold breeze by the shore while marveling at the creamy white limestone formations. Every corner of Kapurpurawan has been formed naturally by natural phenomena over the years! If that doesn’t impress you enough, the rocks are also surrounded by the clear waters of Bangui Bay.

You can try unique Ilocano dishes at this tourist destination in Ilocos, like empanada, poqui poqui, Vigan longganisa, bagnet, etc. Its nature-inspired atmosphere is also surrounded by an artificial grotto perfect for holiday photos with your loved ones.
