Baguio City imposes face shield ordinance
Starting March 17, 2021, Baguio City implemented the face shield ordinance. All residents of Baguio, as well as visitors, are now required to wear face shields outside their homes. Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong said that all violators will be arrested and penalized in accordance with the city ordinance. He also added that since physical exercises in Baguio are still allowed, those undergoing physical fitness exercises will be exempted while conducting physical activities but they must wear their face masks and shields after.
As per the city ordinance, violators will be fined PhP500 on the first offense, PhP1,000 on the second offense, and PhP2,000 on the third offense and may include the cancellation of business permit if applicable. If the violator is a minor, the accompanying parent or guardian will be assessed for the fine. The “no face mask and face shield, no ride” policy will also apply to public transportation in Baguio. Baguio City extends vaccine pre-registration for senior citizens
The City Health Services Office (CHSO) of Baguio City extended the vaccine pre-registration, profiling, and master-listing for its seniors citizens to cover all elderly who have not been profiled and included in the master list yet.
All senior citizens may enlist by accomplishing the Google form for Senior Citizens (https://forms.gle/XKBKxXSmKNcEgo5K6). They may also opt to sign up through an interview with roving barangay health workers in Baguio, barangay health emergency response teams (BHERTs), barangay nutrition workers (BNWs), district health centers and public and private hospitals, or long-term care facilities that cater to senior citizens.
The CHSO added that profiling and master listing are just pre-registration activities; these are different from the registration proper, which will be done separately. [2] Under the city’s vaccination plans, indigent senior citizens are one of the main priority groups after frontliners in Baguio.
