The Raniag Vigan Twilight Festival starts on Thursday.

WEATHER ADVISORY
The possibility of a new storm and rain is high during the week.
After experiencing a storm level number 1 in the previous week, an average temperature of 30˚C is expected this week still with cloudy skies and scattered rain showers. Thunderstorms are expected in mornings and afternoons. A possible storm may also arrive by Thursday so locals and tourists are advised to take necessary safety precautions when there are heavy rains and strong winds.

On October 22, the Raniag Electric Float Parade will assemble in front of the Vigan City Hall at 7:00 PM and will go around the city. The route is yet to be announced but major roads such as the Quezon Avenue and Liberation Boulevard might be closed as these were included in the parade route last year. The parade will end at Calle Crisologo. The parade is part of Vigan City’s Raniag Festival, the city’s annual celebration of honoring the dead.

The Raniag Festival this year called The Raniag Vigan Twilight Festival and World Costume Festival will be celebrated in Vigan City from October 20 to 26. This annual celebration started in 2010 under the former Mayor Eva Medina’s administration as a way to offer thanksgiving to the Lord and to dramatize the remembrance of their departed loved ones.
On October 21, the opening of the exhibit and workshops will be held at the Vigan Convention Center and Vigan Conservation Complex at 8:00 AM.
On October 23, the costume parade, judging, and awarding will be held at Calle Crisologo at 7:00 PM.
SIGHTSEEING TIPS
Daytime is for the famous tourist spots; night time is for the Raniag Festival.

Most of the activities during the Raniag Festival are scheduled at night, making the rest of the day available for sightseeing at the different tourist spots in Vigan City. The Pagburnayan, the place where you can learn to make clay jars, is open from 9:00 AM until about 5:00 PM, or until there are visitors. The Vigan City Public Market is already open at 5:00 AM with shops and stalls starting to close at around 5:30 PM.
