Among other urbanized cities in the region, Bacolod City is considered one of the province’s most livable towns, with upscale hotels, resorts, and restaurants. Most tourists love to go to the City of Smiles to taste the city’s signature food like chicken inasal, cansi, and local cakes and pastries that you can exclusively find and taste. Classics and originals have remained resilient and trending for any season despite other dining options emerging in the city, making Bacolod City the best staple for food trips and exploring food classics.
With that being said, Yoorekka discovers this Bacolod original and famous cake shop in Bacolod that has come back to bring smiles with the delicious comfort food offered—
Bascon Café Bacolod!
Bacolod City’s original coffee and pastries shop is back to bring the best cakes and coffee drinks to the Bacolodnons with the newly-revamped Bascon Café, still located on the busy streets of Lacson. Going back to how it started, the name “Bascon” is a family name primarily associated with creating the best dishes in the city and has been serving in the food industry since the 1950s. During the early 2000s, Bascon Café was born, serving their signature recipes and dishes that have long existed from generation to generation. As the years passed, they also started to make their signature
Bascon cakes and pastries and became the pioneer in serving ‘mini cakes’ in the city.
At present, Bascon Café and Restaurant is serving delectable eats and sweets at different branches all over Negros Occidental, with the same goal throughout the years —to serve customers quality, tasty, and affordable cakes and more.
Since 2003, Bascon Cafe and Restaurant has been known for serving traditional dishes that never get old, establishing itself as a classic dining spot the people have always loved. Locals have long awaited the return of the café and the signature Bascon cakes since its renovation, and finally, it’s here! Bascon lets you create sweet memories with your loved ones every time you dine at the newly-upgraded café and restaurant in the city.
The new and revamped Bascon Café and Restaurant boasts fresh interiors and a cozy atmosphere that caters to foodies of all ages—from the young millennials to older generations.
Bascon has innovatively expanded its menu options from breakfast meals to specialty coffee, desserts, and more. Don’t worry because the bestselling Bascon cakes are still offered both in their Lacson branch at 27th Street beside Tom N Toms Coffee Shop and
Bascon Café La Salle branch.
To hype up your day, Bascon Café boasts its tasty and affordable breakfast meals, which you can grab as early as 6:00 AM. Your favorite morning meals paired with a cup of hot latte are the perfect choice for breakfast before grinding for work or a meal after a night shift that you can take home. Bascon serves Filipino breakfast favorites with an egg of your choice, rice or bread, and free juice or coffee for dine-in customers.
The international breakfast menu is also served until 11:00 AM only if you opt for a fancier taste to start the day. They serve waffle omelets, French toast, and the specialty menu, the Bascon Big Breakfast, at PhP450. The Bascon Big Breakfast has ham, bacon, sausage, two eggs sided with a mini salad, potatoes, sliced bread, and your choice of coffee or juice.
Bascon cakes are always there to stay and delight you with sweet treats, as cake choices never leave the menu. You can choose among the actual cake displays at their branch and grab a slice, or you can pre-order at least a day ahead in advance. Authentic cake flavors vary depending on their availability per store or branch. A cake slice serving can range from PhP185 to PhP215 per slice. Mini Cakes, Bascon’s signature bestsellers, are at PhP180 to PhP225.
As you all know, cakes go perfectly well with coffee. But if you prefer shakes, tea, or juices to pair with your indulgent cakes, then Bascon Café Bacolod has them. Fruit Shakes are at PhP70 to PhP90, juices at PhP45 to PhP50, and your choice of tea is at PhP45 per cup.
