Negros Occidental requests for own travel protocols
Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson wrote a letter to the National Inter-Agency Task Force (NIATF) requesting its own travel protocols in the province. The governor made the request to prevent the further spread of the virus since the province saw a rapid surge in cases when the uniform travel protocols were implemented. The governor also specified that the province needs travel measures to control and monitor all inbound travelers, specifically locally stranded individuals, authorized persons outside of residence, and returning overseas Filipinos [2].
Governor temporarily reinstates old travel protocols
Pending approval from the NIATF to establish specific travel protocols in the province, the governor reimposed old travel protocols, specifically the swab testing of inbound travelers before their entry into the province, effective April 1. The S-Pass and StaySafe systems will still be in place for all inbound travelers. Moreover, the governor wants all incoming travelers to be tested in airports and seaports since there have been cases of fake reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction tests being presented. San Carlos temporarily halts leisure activities
Due to the unexpected rise of COVID-19 cases, the Mayor of San Carlos City has temporarily suspended leisure activities in resorts and recreational parks in the city. Mayor Renato Gustilo issued Executive Order (EO) 22 Series of 2021 which states that all activities and operations of public resorts and leisure parks are temporarily prohibited. Also, the mayor discouraged the public from holding any unnecessary events to avoid further local transmission in the city [4].
