Over 5,000 Bacolod City health workers vaccinated
In the data collected by Bacolod City Emergency Operations Center (EOC), a total of 5,020 health workers in the city were inoculated against COVID-19 from March 5 to 25. Doses developed by Sinovac and AstraZeneca were the two types of vaccines used for the frontliners. According to the records, 3,094 medical workers received Sinovac vaccine doses while 1,926 medical workers received AstraZeneca shots. Of the medical workers who were vaccinated with the Sinovac dose, only minor adverse effects were noted [3].
Two Sinovac vaccinated nurses in CLMMRH tested positive for the virus
Two medical workers of Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) had positive swab test results for COVID-19 even after being vaccinated with Sinovac doses. According to Dr. Chris Sorongon, City Emergency Operation Centers deputy for medical data and analysis, the two nurses must have obtained the virus outside of the hospital since CLMMRH’s infection control is good. Both nurses did not show symptoms of the virus and tested positive during the hospital’s medical surveillance swab testing every two weeks [4].
