If you’re looking for fun places to go with your family for some weekend bonding, here are the cheap family-friendly places in Bacolod that are a stone’s throw away from the city center.
1. The Negros Museum
Location: Gatuslao Street, Bacolod City

A trip to this museum can not only show the young ones the the rich culture of Negros but also inspire them!
How to go to The Negros Museum: Ride a Mandalagan-Libertad PUV from North Ceres Terminal and ask the driver to drop you off at The Negros Museum. The jeepney will pass by the front entrance of the museum.
2. Negros Forests & Ecological Foundation, Inc.
Location: South Capitol Road, Bacolod City
Entrance fees:
Adults - PhP100
Children - PhP50
NFEFI serves as a sanctuary for over a hundred endangered species.

In the midst of the bustling city lies a piece of nature—serene, with only sounds of chirping birds and green scenery to calm your mind. This is the Negros Forests & Ecological Foundation Inc., a place that aims to educate visitors on the importance of taking care of wildlife, especially the habitat of the endangered animals. For one, the Visayan spotted deer, which is considered as the rarest deer in the world, is kept for breeding inside its Biodiversity Conservation Center.
How to go to Negros Forests & Ecological Foundation Inc.: Take a Bata-Libertad jeepney from Bacolod South Public Market and get off at KFC Lacson. Cross the street going to the Development Bank of the Philippines then enter the South Capitol Road. Walk until you see a green gate at your left. This is the main entrance of the wildlife sanctuary.
3. Bantug Lake Ranch
Location: Granada Alangilan Road, Bacolod City
Entrance fees: PhP75
It’s a seven-hectare peaceful property for families in need of a daylight getaway.

Bantug Lake Ranch is a vibrant organic farm resort that offers an escape from the busyness of city life. Since the place is located just a few kilometers from Bacolod, you can take a day trip and do exciting activities like swimming, horseback riding, boating, and fishing at the lake. You can also have a picnic by the grounds while enjoying the cool weather. If you’re lucky, you might even see a peacock running around! If you don’t want to pack food, the resort also has a restaurant that serves affordable Filipino dishes.
How to go to Bantug Lake Ranch: Alangilan jeepneys are situated in front of Bacolod North Public Market and KJ Fairmart. Ride one and tell the driver to drop you off at Bantug Lake Ranch. Then, walk a few meters to reach the ranch’s entrance.
4. Palmas Del Mar Resort
Location: J.R. Torres Avenue, Bacolod City

How to go to Palmas Del Mar Resort: If your starting point is along Bacolod Public Plaza, find an Airport-Central Market PUV and ask the driver to drop you off at the entrance of Palmas Del Mar Subdivision. From there, ride a pedicab that will take you to the entrance of the resort.

How to go to Campuestohan Highlands Resort: From Bacolod North Public Market, ride a Homesite-Libertad jeepney going east. Get off at Caltex Gas Station and proceed to iMart which is located beside the gas station. A blue shuttle owned by Campuestohan parks in front of iMart to wait for passengers bound for the resort.
